Are the internal contacts gold plated, or just the visible ring in front?

Just the ring up front. The internal connections are a silver colored metal for soldering.

The pictures in the ad show 3 terminals on the back, the jacks i received have 4. How do i determine which is which??

I don’t recall mine having 4 connection terminals.. but when in doubt, use the continuity setting on a volt/ohm meter to determine which wire/connection is which. If you don’t know how to do that, ask the Internet.
