Japanese whisky character without the price tag...
A decent 'little bit of everything' blend that leans toward the dry side. A bit of smoke, a bit of grassiness, a medium to light body, some cereal sweetness that opens up with a few drops of water. I don't know how to describe the character of Japanese whiskey but I can taste it and tbh I really didn't expect to. Closest overall comparison I can think of is JW black, but with a little more nuance. A very good deal if you can pay in the low-mid 20s.

Nice smooth whiskey
Bought this my Dad as a birthday present as he loves his whiskey. When i asked what he thought of it his reply was its very smooth with no sharp bite just a nice smooth taste. Will purchase again.

.
Bought this to try against a sample I received of a an 8yo cask strength Mizunara cask. Not much to this bottle, and if Mizunara is a slow release wooden cask, didn't get much of a flavour.

The provenance and acceptable standards applicable to the product
This product is rough and the 8 year old and smooth Japanese label is totally misleading. Even watered down it is still not acceptable.
