This is a very good learning tool. The tendency of our littlest to make jigsaw pieces fit by hitting them hard until they do is always a challenge, but with these cards she seems to have grasped very quickly that it's a sort of snap where you match top and bottom and then see if they fit easily. She feels a sense of achievement when she matches them correctly.

Galt is a name that can be trusted when it comes to children's puzzles and games. Working as a Nursery Practitioner, we have a lot of Galt games as they are great at producing matching, sorting and puzzles at really reasonable prices. This set of fruit puzzles add a literacy element as the fruit name is matched to the image. The images are quite cute, with faces and there is a backing colour behind the print to help those who are developing early literacy skills. Two part puzzles are ideal for younger children and help develop motor skills as well as developing ideas around shape and pattern. This puzzle is made from thick card, so should last well and the pieces are a good size for little hands to hold. Priced at £6.99, this offers really good value.

You can usually rely on Galt to produce quality toys. While these puzzles are very simple, the pieces can be matched by background colour for children very early in their literacy work, the pictures of fruit and vegetables are recognisable and quite typical of fruit and veg that children would mostly recognise.A fun way to introduce word recognition with a mix of short (pear) and longer (aubergine) words.The pieces are quite sturdy so good for small hands to hold without bending.Nice little gift.

The Galt Toys, Fruit and Veg Puzzles, is a colourful, attractive, sturdy, and simple Jigsaw Puzzle for Kids. In my opinion, it is also good for younger kids than the specified range. Even if they can't read but they can still match the colour and shape. I bought it for my 3 years old daughter when she started ready small words. She loved reading by half-guessing the names. It is good fun and learning.

This jigsaw set looks good at first. Bright and colourful with fun fruit and vegetable character graphics. The pieces are made of stiff cardboard.However, toddlers try to match the pieces based on background colours, which results in toddlers forcing pieces in to wrong holes as more than one jigsaw gas the same backgroynd colour. You need to match the word to the picture, of course, but words like aubergine and broccoli are FAR TOO DIFFICULT for the target audience of 3-5 year olds!Overall a strange set that offers very easy jigsaws in terms of them being 3 pieces, but with very complex language.

A fun puzzle game for young children. There's 22 small puzzles in total and each puzzle has 2 pieces. The top is the picture of the fruit or veg and then you need to find the word to match. Some are quite long words so not the easiest for children that can't read but the puzzles are colour coded to make it easier. This is good to help teach children about fruit and veg and also fun to do together with an adult for quality time together.
