THE BEST!!!!
Can’t say enough good things!! True to size. Great quality. I wish it was less expensive, but for the relief / peace of mind it provides, it’s worth it. My pup’s foot is 2.2” wide, and the medium fits perfect. So easy to configure and put on. My pup has been knuckling due to neurological issues caused by a meningioma tumor on his spine. This has made it so he can walk normally again, and not drag or knuckle. Provides great support. Keeps his foot in the proper position. We haven’t walked in any deep water, so not sure if it’s completely waterproof, but his foot stays dry in the rain. Seems comfortable, he never protests when I get it out to put it on him. The vets love it too. So glad I got it. Very happy with it.

A waste of money
My dog had a spinal stroke in December and drags her one back leg now so my vet and I thought we would give this a try in hopes that this would help her not place her weight on the top surface of her foot and put it in proper position. The ring on the boot needs to be further back on the pastern to hold her foot in proper position not on the toe. It’s also very difficult to put on my extremely well behaved dog alone. I can’t even imagine trying to use this with an excitable, rambunctious dog.As soon as the boot is on, the strap around the thigh and the tether is in place with as much tension as it will allow she will flip the foot back over and continue to knuckle over.I would send it back if it wasn’t past the return window but I’m a procrastinator and didn’t return it in time.

Wonderful For Degenerative Myopathy but unfortunately wears out fast
This is a difficult review for me to write … I will provide both the pros and cone I have experienced in using these toe-up booties. My 11-1/2 year old mutt was diagnosed with DM about 8 months ago. She is loosing all feeling in her back legs. It started with her mostly in her right leg and right upper thigh. One of the things that happens with DM dogs 🐕 s called knuckling. It started gradually where her foot would curl under and she would drag it. Unfortunately, when this happens they begin to scrape the top part of their paw. I started out with a regular dog booty. The next stage, however, was a where they begin to actually start dragging their whole back leg. At this point I did not know about this toe up device and ended up purchasing a cart m; so I could continue to take her on walks. The cart was a life saver and she adjusted rather quickly, but she still kept knuckling and dragging her right paw, and would wear out the regular booties fast. I contacted the place where I had purchased the cart, and that was when they recommended this product. After I put it on her and saw how it kept her toe up and forward; I then wished that I had tried the toe-up product first (before the dog cart/wheelchair) because I think it would have been enough by itself for awhile to help prevent the knuckling and scraping. Anyway, this device definitely helps her not only in the cart, but at home when wearing it she can bring herself to standing easier with it on. Okay, so you are wondering why only three stars. Only three stars because these things last really only about a month. I wish they were sturdier. Either the rubber bottom starts splitting and coming off, or the elastic part will break. We try to keep them going as long as possible for use when the bottoms start wearing away by strategically placing duct tape on them. That said though, it still seems the life span of these things is only about a month to maybe a month and a half. I have come to accept this only because they work so great for my dog’s DM. I just wish they were not so dang expensive, or that the company would offer more of a discount; say if two or more of them are purchased at the same time. I did just purchase two of them recently; because of a temporary $10 off coupon that the company was offering if more than one was purchased. This discount was appreciated. Honestly though, a larger price cut would have been really really appreciated.Since my girl continues to have quality to her life via her cart, and via these toe-up booties; I continue to foot the cost.

Needed
I just got this in and my dog has worn it for one day and it works really well. He’s a standard poodle and I got a size 2 1/2 inches or medium. He has neurological damage so knuckles over and this solves the problem however it didn’t have enough Grip on the soul so he was still slipping. I added hot glue dots to the soul to help with traction.

I want to give these a higher rating - I just can't!
These were perfect.. for about 36 hours. I have an English Mastiff that knuckles to the point of causing tissue damage and this is the second go at anti- knuckling gear. After putting them on him, I honestly thought, "JACKPOT! THESE WILL DO THE TRICK!" I thought at $55 per shoe they'd have lasted much longer than they have before tearing. So I referenced the sizing guide again and yep, these are definitely the right size. Not too tight and placed as directed and the toe is already torn 😩 The concept definitely worked... he wasn't knuckling at all, even thought the rubber "shoe" was brilliant, but definitely wasn't prepared for how fast these wore. I should have taken the quality gripes a bit more seriously.

Knuckling brace works amazing
This thing worked absolutely amazing. I gave my dog the confidence to walk across the slippery floor. She has a neurological problem and her right rear leg was knuckling so bad. This is a game changer. I am forever grateful

Not meant for large or giant breeds
Unfortunate I think these are best suited for dogs who are maybe 20 lbs or lighter. The boot itself was constructed alright- however the “ anti-knuckling” is dependent on a thin bungee string stayin taught enough to hold the toes upward. If the body weight of the dog is any bigger, it doesn’t withstand the natural pull of the paw and it fails to be effective at all.I tried this on my Great Dane after he experienced an FCE and unfortunately it won’t work for what we need.Smaller dogs ( much smaller) may fare better.
