Best aquarium filter media!
Hands down far superior than cartridges. Carbon cartridges just never work well for me. Water flow wise and the carbon filtering out any prime or other additives like plant fertilizer. I can cut out exactly the size I need for my filter and it works perfectly. Highly recommend.

Alternative use
I've used this in 10x20 plant trays to filter water returning to a hydroponics reservoir, and it seems to be doing well so far.The product has to be soaked prior to use, as it is shipped compressed.

Now it's a gutter filter
I needed a thin gutter filter to put in the shed gutters. Took a long shot on this but it works great!

Very satisfied
After seeing some of the review pictures and measurements I was skeptical, but for the price I went for it! It arrived in a vacuum sealed bag so I immediately knew that the measurement photos, I previously saw were false. I followed the instructions provided and boom I got the product description!

It is always a Capt. Obvious no-brainer - buy bulk and make your own filters. Most of the "black box, black label" generic products are absolutely just fine to use. I rarely see much difference in this type of filter beyond its shape. This hobby is expensive enough as is.
