Really good material
This is the best knife backpack so far for me, it fit my yanagiba and sakimaru 300mm. And have a lot of space. Good for traveling too.

Awesome bag
I ordered two of these bags. One for me and one for a friend. One bag came with the American flag and one didn’t. One also had stitching coming undone. No big deal though. I just sent that one back, reported it as a claim and they sent me another one. Great bag though.

Not too tactical
I just got the bag and packed it. It packs the knives and tools well. Seems sturdy and decent material but again I just got it. Chef sac says this is a “tactical” chef bag. I would think that they would do their research on what a decent tactical bag and what makes them functional. It would be nice if the made the bag in the desert tan/khaki color (but that’s just more personal preference). Also the external chef sac “molle” bag they sell separately is a waiste since there are no straps on the back of the bag so you can’t weave the molle straps through. Just another showing of how the r&d wasn’t done to be “tactical”.Now for the bag itself,Pros: the big main compartment is nice and the knife/tool sleeves seems like it will hold everything in place. The one side has individual elastic straps for each of the lower pockets so they won’t shift. There is a very large mesh pocket and straps for things like a chef jacket and pants is nice.I am able to fit a XL Japanese mandolin and a wooden strop in the back mesh pocket. There is a decent size middle zippered compartment for more of edc items like back up batteries, Bluetooth speakers and cables plus more. The back PADDED compartment is nice for a laptop or tablet and seems it will be well protected. The 2 front zippered pockets are nice and large for writing utensils, thermometers, sharpies and even small electronics Or sunglasses.Cons: The other side of the knife sleeve has a large strip of Velcro but is it would have to go around each tool to keep everything from shifting and it isn’t long enough. There are no external pockets like it is said in the description for a bottle or drink, that’s disappointing. There’s no molle webbing on the sides like every tactical backpack of this size would have for external packs (especially when there are no pockets for drinks). There is no reason for an expansion zipper when you have compression straps, it’s just not necessary. Also for a bag like this you would want a chest strap not a waist strap and especially not one of this thin of a material as chef sac made theirs.

Just buy it
I spent a lot of time going back and forth between knife cases and I am glad I settled on this bag. The fabric is heavy duty and feels like it will last for years and years. The knife storage is exceptional. The largest knife it holds is a 270mm Yanagi, 19” overall length. The elastic straps are nice to keep knives from shifting. There are plenty of slots for smaller tools and some mesh pockets for other items. The rest of the bag has tons of space. The biggest compartment has two sleeves for a laptop and tablet or notebook plus plenty of space for a chef coat and a spare. It is up against the back so there is some thick mesh padding and another hidden pocket. The compartment in front of the tools is large enough for a pad folio. I keep mine there because I think it offers a little extra padding for knives. There are a couple smaller pockets on the front that are perfect for thermometers, pens, pencils, small notebooks, etc. Some reviews mentioned poor zipper quality. The zippers on my bag are just fine. I like that they are sewn with the flat side out to help prevent snagging.Don’t waste your time like I did and go ahead and buy this bag. You won’t be disappointed.

Zipper broke in the 2nd week
Very nice backpack big and roomy. Had it for about 8 months now but one of the zipper broke on the 2nd week of having it.

Feeling like a Culinary Rambo! Built for kitchen battles!
The media could not be loaded. Previously bought a Chef Sac and saw they had this new one and said to myself that it's time for an upgrade! Glad I picked this bad boy up. The tactical knife backpack does the job and looks f-ing awesome! Bigger than my other Chef Sac so I could carry more - my knives, tools, apron, laptop, tablet, pretty much anything and everything. Easily fits a 12" knife so if you have a longer blade, this bag is for you. The design caught my attention and my crew approves. Got a few mates hooked on this backpack as well haha.Quality wise, this backpack is very tough and well built. If its anything like their other products, I have no doubt this will hold up. Really happy with how I can fit everything in one place now, feel like Rambo with this on my back!

So disappointed!
I'm a baking and pastry student and got this knife kit/backpack since I have more components (extra circle cutters, cake decorating kits and tips, etc) than a culinary student and need the space. The backpack area was a plus for my normal sized notebooks I carry with my recipes and notes. Nothing I carried was overly heavy and within a few weeks of using, it developed a hole that I can't repair. I have never hung it by it's straps except for wearing it on the 10 minute walk to and from the building and my car. With it being so expensive I wish it was more sturdy and could stand up to the basic rigors a normal backpack goes through! I never carried any of my giant text books in it either! Just my tools, pens, pencils and sharpies, and 2 notebooks. Going to get a normal backpack with a knife roll for my 2 knives I need so it'll last.
