The media could not be loaded. My mother-in-law, who is 86, loves the outdoors, nature, flowers and especially, butterflies. Unfortunately, she has severe health issues that prevent her from leaving her home. My 23 year old son, who had autism absolutely was fascinated by the kit as well. We used to buy him these kits, when he was a child, too. This was a wonderful and fun project for her to do. She was so excited. This kit could be fur a child or a nature loving grandma, with a child trapped inside. This kit came with everything we needed, from caterpillar, larva and to the butterfly stage. We received a couple extra caterpillars, which delighted my mother-in-law. She watched the caterpillars daily, as they ate and grew tremendously large. She was brought back to her childhood memories, when the caterpillars started weaving their cocoons. She remembered watching them attach themselves to milkweed stalks. She eagerly awaited until “poof” one day, the first gorgeous butterfly emerged. She was beyond excited. She cared for them tenderly, like a mother. Then came the day to let them fly free. She was sad to see them go, but very proud to have raised them! My son took the enclosure outside to the flower bushes and released these beauties. It was perfect. The experience was worth it all. The kit was reasonably priced, but in a way was priceless, for us. All but two of the caterpillars didn’t make it to the butterfly stage. But, as I said, we were sent a couple extra caterpillars, so we released a total of five painted lady butterflies, as advertised. The kit includes clear cup, with the caterpillars and their food, a mister, a pop up, reusable, mesh habitat, a couple sugar packets, eye dropper, a butterfly feeding container, and a minimum of five live caterpillars. We will definitely be buying this again next season. It was beautiful watching my son and mother-in-in law work together, to ensure that the caterpillars, cocoons and butterflies, were well cared for. This huge a huge hit! It performs as advertised! My 12 year old son used this kit to hatch butterflies in our homeschool. I loved that the kit already came with caterpillars and I didn't need to send away for them. When they came, in the heat of the Texas summer, they were put into our mailbox and I didn't realize they were there until the next day. Luckily, it had been overcast the day before and so the caterpillars did just fine. Out of 5 caterpillars we were able to hatch 4 butterflies. It was a great learning experience for us and this kit and its simple instructions made it easy to do. I would recommend this kit to anyone looking to grow their own butterflies.

First, let me start by saying the seller went above and beyond. They were so well packaged and arrived safe and sound. They even sent extra caterpillars so we had about 14 instead of 10! All of them survived and became chrysalis. The set up was very easy and items were all high quality. The pop up was larger than I expected and that was a pleasant surprise! My kids loved this so much. They were fascinated! Super fun for the whole family. Compared to other comparable products, this is definitely my top recommendation and we have personally tried many. This one is the best value and quality. All butterflies emerged and were soooo gorgeous! 10/10 recommend this!

The media could not be loaded. Bought this for my 7 year olds birthday and I honestly thought I would screw it up.. I was nervous.. but lo and behold... We have butterflies! Everything you need is in the kit, it happens so fast I was amazed! The chrysalis' are beautiful and the butterflies are amazing to watch! Going to release them and probably order another kit. This is a great learning tool and a great memory gift!!

We homeschool and we had such fun doing this project. Although the seller guarantees 3 live butterflies, all six of our caterpillars turned into butterflies. Very cool experience. Beautiful. Very easy instructions.

We got this kit to do for our pre-school students. It was supposed to only come with 5 caterpillars but we was sent 7 (loved that!) durning the process of moving the cocoons over to the bigger enclosure one of them did fall off and it still tried to hatch but unfortunately did not make it but the other 6 did make it and it was such an amazing experience for not only the kids but also for the staff! It was really easy to understand the instructions to follow and was definitely with the money ! We plan on doing this every summer from now on ! The butterfly’s were even more beautiful then we expected 10/10 definitely recommend! Today we released the butterfly’s and the kids absolutely enjoyed it !

I ordered 14 caterpillars for this project for my garden. They were all doing well until the time for them to go into a chrysalis, one caterpillar didn’t make it, I have one in a chrysalis that looks too dark to be alive and I woke up to a fallen chrysalis trying to hatch and because it wasn’t hanging cause it fell it has dried out wings one is crumpled and beyond help but I will have to keep it as a pet indoors because it will not survive in the wild so make sure you set them up properly where they won’t fall and can hang properly so their wings aren’t smashed and ruined. It’s still alive alright it looks pretty stressed and handicapped I will insert pics of this little baby but overall good outcome I’m happy. Wish they would have provided better quality stuff to keep the caterpillars in place but the stuff was cheap and not a good growing method for the butterflies. They provided 2 clips to hang them with but I had to us a sink strained and qtips to hand them individually.
