Best cleaner
I've delt with fish tanks 15+ years and this is one of the best cleaners to use for fresh water. Amazon got it to me within a few hours to help fix my fish tank before I'd have to restart the whole thing. Thank you for the good customer service all the way around.

A Good product but use with caution as it drops PH and oxygen.
I've used this product on my 55g Fresh and a 10g fresh water aquarium. It does indeed do what it promises on the label and did indeed lower my nitrates and in my 10g aquarium my amonnia as well.My measured nitrate drop 10-20 PPM in my 55g freshwater after 2 days. However, I would excersise caution based on other observations in both of my aquariums. In both of my aquariums, I observed a drop in PH to the lower side of .3 to .6 within one day.The use of PH buffers to raise the PH and keep it stable is highly recommended. It also drops the oxygen level dramatically for at least a day so having an air stone or bubbler is an absolute must. DO NOT dose your tank without increasing the oxygen level via an air stone or youmay lose your livestock. After a couple of days the oxygen level seems to rise again. The product label does tell you to increase your oxygen levels when dosing.

Works better than prime , no smell
So I've been useing this product for few weeks , It has same benefits as secham prime minus the smell and last way way longer than prime , I am able to have my fish go through a cycle ie high nitrite and ammonia levels and they are happy as a camper . I didn't get this product to do that but a tank cycle crashed , I was tired of rotten egg smell and only 2 day guarantee safety, so I bought this . Within 1 min of adding this product my fish went to acting normal , one min previously they were all sluggish and looking rough with 1 ppm nitrite spike . As you can sew this is a community 20 gallon tank . With glowfish pristilas , cory cat , betta females , mollys and ,neons ( not over crowded) just right . One fish had babies I didn't realize until I saw 2 at the top ( black mollys ) well only 2 were seen , so I am assuming many got eaten or taken into the Hob filter and cause a ammonia then nitrite spike . This you can add and if cycle crashes its protects your fish back through a cycle . Highly recommend

Does the job removing all traces of Ammonia, Nitrite, & Nitrate!
My 240 gallon acrylic tank was cycling, the ammonia stayed high overlong, even the plants were complaining. Added Amquel +, saw the ammonia go down within a half-hour. Ditto with nitrites. Nitrates have not gone above zero since adding. I'm pretty impressed ... and that doesn't happen easily.NOW ... here's the rub: Kordon claims this doesn't interfere with cycling a tank, just that it binds ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate ... I guess like chemical sequestration. They imply it doesn't come back into solution, but they do say the nitrogen cycle bacteria can still break stuff down. Also, there doesn't seem to be any consensus, either from the manufacturer or consumers, on how often you can/should add more, or if there is some toxicity level. Kind of vague. If you plan repeat doses, I'd tread carefully, and only base additional doses on testing. Also, to be able to get an accurate reading, there are certain reagent systems that are invalid if you use Amquel+ .... but the readily available API Master Test Kit does the job nicely.
