Covers wider distance, Works just fine with Home Assistant
These z-wave door sensors worked just fine for my home's doors, both of which have a pretty large gap between the frame and the actual door (see images).I had tried a few other brand's door sensors, but they were all unable to make contact and always showed as open. I eventually discovered this device and am happy to report it does work with larger door gaps. I believe them to be the best in regard to this metric.I also use this z-wave device with Home Assistant (z-wave JS), and it integrated just fine. Of course, make sure you have a z-wave controller plugged in and set up in Home Assistant for this functionality.Combined these devices with Alarmo (a Home Assistant HACS integration) and the Ring Keypad V2, Home Assistant now serves as a reliable alarm system.I've owned this device for about a month and it has served as a reliable fundamental.

4 years one battery
it works, was easy to pair and it kept in a hot humid garage. Battery life has been incredible, going on 4 years with the original battery.

Works great for Escape Room purpouses
Using this to add automation to an Escape Room. The sensor will read no matter what side you apply the two pieces, side by side like pictured or front/back, back/back, etc... Package comes with a brown cover as option, easy to switch the white cover that it comes with standard, with the brown one included as extra. Includes screws and a nice easy bracket or double sided foam tape pieces. We really liked the brackets because they could be mounted separately, and the sensor then clips right into it. The sensors have a good distance between them when we tested them, more than advertised, which is a plus for our intended purposes (about 1/4 inch). The sensor does work through thinner materiel such as plywood, but does not transmit through metals, no matter how thin they are. In fact, metal too close to the senor, seems to disrupt it's signal. When it came to pairing it with our Z-Stick, it went fairly smoothly. The only awkward part, is that the sensor goes into pairing mode as soon as you pull the tab in the back. If you pull that too soon, to put it into pairing mode again, you have to open it up and remove the battery for several seconds, which is a bit of a pain.

Pairs well, works well. But then...
I have a Homeassistant system on RPi with a ZWave dongle. I dont write reviews immediately, especially electronic items. I let it run for few months. This, I bought in July.I bought this to see if I can scale the HA setup across the house. So here are my experiences. What works?Pairing is very straightforward. No pain, no fuss.HA detected the sensor on the first hit. I didnt have to do extra workSignal is immediate! I have this on my front door and it goes on each time, without fail. In the last 4 months ZERO misses. It also reports Battery Level to HA and all the way to my Homekit. Till now it says 100%, havent seen it drop even 1%. So Im not sure if its reporting it right (so a good thing) or its gonna go from 100 - 0 without notice (which will be a bad thing)What doesnt work? There is only one issue I have with this sensor: It reports as "Occupancy Sensor" to the ZWave Hub. It should be reporting as Door Sensor!! Because of this Homekit also reports "Occupancy Detected".I have tried to change it on HA but to no avail. Even HA Community couldnt get me an answer, so we've learned to live with it. For that I took off 1 star.Keep It or Return It? : Emphatic Keep it.

Great product, great customer service
I originally purchased three of these sensors for my home (2000 sq feet on the main floor, 2000 sq feet in the basement), and then purchased three more. They started out working great, but eventually most lost connection with my SmartThings hub.I called Ecolink to troubleshoot and they were SO HELPFUL! It was personal, and they did everything they could to make sure my sensors were all working well. The outcome? With a zwave network, the more sensors you have on it, the better it works! I added four more sensors to my network and moved my hub to a more central location, and ALL are connecting great. If you find you are having a connection or battery life issue, try adding more zwave devices...it's probably not a device issue, it's that you don't have a robust zwave network. It's so helpful for me to keep track of which doors are opened with four small kids at home, I have been able to quickly catch when a child opens a door or goes outside. I feel confident these sensors will help keep our entire family safe! I have a sensor on every child's bedroom and on all of our exterior doors both upstairs and downstairs.

Great product, using ST
This is a great product. I have three of these in my home. The house was wired with an existing DSC alarm, so I was able to wire the doors, windows, and motion sensor zones each all into these units. The sensor has 2-wire terminal blocks for this.Words of caution: first, be careful when wiring into the terminals. They are soldered on, and can snap. Mine didn't, but I made sure to keep pressure on the block when moving the wires around. Second, the space for wire to come into the sensor and then into the terminals is tight. I had to have some info the wire come up over the block. I was still able to get the top back on though, not a problem. Finally, the screws on the block are small. They use a flathead screw driver, but my Craftsman mini drivers could not fit in. A jeweler's set would have helped. The response is pretty quick. Some tried to say it took about 2 seconds to respond, but I was seeing responses in the ~250-500ms.Finally, yes, I did use one of these to integrate my hard wired motion sensor. I don't know if their version of a motion sensor had a terminal block, so I just used this. It works fine. The only issue I have is that ST thinks it's a door/window, so I have to tell it differently. I might be able to change that with the IDE, but have not tried yet. I hope this helps someone. It took me a while to determine which units I wanted to use.

Bueno pero no sirve con puertas metálicas!
Es un buen equipo, alcanza buena distancia de transmisión pero el sensor se queda magnetizado con puertas metálicas y no reacciona. Se debería de especificar en la descripción.

Super easy to set up with SmartThings. Reliably accurate door state reporting.
Super easy to add to SmartThings. I clicked on "My Home" on the app, then the "+", removed the battery tab and within a minute the device was added. Works very well without missing a beat. The magnet is strong as advertised so that you don't get "door open" when in fact it is closed as happens to me with the Dome version from time to time.Reliability and accurate reporting is particularly important if you have your locks reacting to the door state.

Works Excellent with ISY994 with their 500 series board.
Works Excellent with ISY994 with their 500 series board. Will soon be migrating everything to a UD Polisy with their ZMatter 700 board and considering it works so well with the ISY994 I expect it will be just as good with the Polisy or the new EISY.

False Alarms
Estos dispositivos cambian de estado sin que los toquen. Con puertas-ventanas cerradas, de repente alertan que han sido abiertas cuando están cerradas. These devices change state without anyone getting near them, with door-windows closed they suddenly alert they are open when they're closed.

Easy setup. Working great.
-1 star because the sensor showed up with the battery tab pulled already, and the sensor is reporting the battery is almost dead. Easy setup with the Aeotec Z-Stick controller and Home Assistant.
