Awesome Product
I got this because we use other Makita tools and trust them. So, when it came time to buy a fan, I immediately went to this brand. This one works on batteries AND electricity, so it's very flexible. I've tried it with both 3 Ah and the 5 Ah (18 volt) batteries. On medium speed, with no swiveling, it lasts 3.5 hrs on the 3 Ah and 7.5 hours on the 5 Ah batteries. Great product.

Very sturdy fan and well built.
This fan exceeds all expectations, during last year’s hurricanes power outages. These were the only fans we had in the house to keep us cool. Makita makes some of the best products that our battery operated that I’ve ever seen.

Portable heat relief
I've had the fan for almost 2 years now. I'll keep it short and very sweet. I give it a 10 out of 10. It sits in the back of my van with stuff pulled up on top of it. I don't think it can be broken with a baseball bat (sarc). The battery life is unbelievable. I went camping for one week and used it all night, on low every night (about 7 hours or so). It lasted all week on one Makati 6AH battery with power to spare.Absolutely not even one hint of a complaint from me. Great product Makita.

Great Fan !!
My first Makita 18 volt fan went kaput after 5 years of hard use - sporting events, weekend BBQ's, Work weekends at the cabin, working at the house, power outages / hurricanes, etc.I have both Makita batteries and Milwaukee batteries at home.Milwaukee doesn't offer a similar fan, so I replaced the old fan with a new Makita and this one is a step up from the previous model.Run Time is improved, is quieter and the battery change is easier as well.Buy one if you have the 18v batteries, you'll use it more than you think you will

Great fan if you're in the Makita platform
I've been using this fan for just over a week now.The air flow on all 3 speeds is fantastic. Even on it's lowest setting I am able to feel a breeze indoors at about 25 feet away. The motor doesn't emit any sort of harsh or obnoxious sounds, I actually find it quite pleasant. The rotating fan head has been wonderful while tent camping, allowing it to be aimed straight up through the top air vent creating a good venturi effect. As someone that likes to have a fan running while I sleep this is perfect in the event of power outages, this fan goes from AC to battery power without a much of a hiccup there is a slight difference for a second or two but then its back to normal. One downside I've found is there is no place to store the AC power pack and cord on the tool itself, the power pack isn't large but a storage space would be nice to hold it.Other than that so far so good, I'll update if I have any changes in my experience with the DCF301Z

Makita Fan review
Owned fan for a couple weeks. Seems to be working fine does cool the area pretty well. Must have 5 to 6 amp hour battery. I dislike the damaged box had big hole in the bottom, and a lot of tape on the top. Feels like I bought someone else’s used fan. After reviewing the serial numbers, it looks like it was being manufactured in 2022. No damage that I could find on the fan right now. It seems to be a returned or used item while paying a new fan price.
