They are normally not shielded you can purchase them shielded though

Q: Does this act as a DHCP server?

No you have to connect it to your router, the router is the DHCP and the switch is the extension, you router is capable of 255 IP address but you only have a few ports on your router so the switch will allow for more ports

Q: Is there a way to disable the watchdog feature? It's breaking a lot of things
