So when I got this charger I may have given it 2-3 stars. But now, having had it for almost 2 yrs, I wish I could give it zero. It has been overheating since day one. It felt much lighter than my previous charger, but between the two things, I just accepted it was simply because it wasn’t a genuine Apple product. I have had to limit my use of my MacBook since I purchased this charger because it would get so hot we were worried about it overheating the wall outlet or a breaker bar. It also caused my computer to heat up. However, tonight I was desperately trying to finish editing some pictures a client was waiting on. I had quite a few photos open in the program I was using (nothing else was open). I hadn’t saved them yet as I was editing as a batch. When suddenly my computer started telling me it was going to shut down as the battery was at 1%. I hadn’t paid attention, because I was busy. But apparently over 3 hours it hadn’t charged my computer AT ALL. Then it would flash charger on, charger off, over and over while saying something about no program was running high battery power or something along those lines. Because I thought maybe I was causing the issue. Then, suddenly, it all was black. I lost hours and hours of editing work. All the photos I was almost finished with, I wasn’t able to save anything and am now not able to use my computer. I will be paying a higher price for a true Apple charger after this.

After a week, so far so good. Enough power to quickly charge my MacBook Air.
