Works great
Fits in my 1999 4Runner perfect. Just use a flat screwdriver to pop the old one out and this one just slips in.

Bad fit and does not work properly
Had to modify just about everything that touches the end of the unit to make it fit. All dimensions are slightly off. After finally getting it to plug in, I found the AC engages whether the button is on or off and the fresh air options are selected. I suppose it kind of works, but if anybody knows about 2.7 liter trucks, when the AC is on it turns a slow truck into a slower one. I'm returning it.

Fit my 99 Tacoma base model
Like others have said, pliers pull the broken one right out and the new one has to be pushed gently in while rotating slightly (think wiggling in a circular motion). Once it starts it goes in 90% of the way and I used the pliers on the bottom of the outer ring to push the other 9% in. 1% sticks out past the climate control face plate but looks fine in my opinion. Works as it should out of the box.

Does not work with 1st Gen. SR5 Tacoma
Obviously not for my 1999 Toyota Tacoma SR5 TRD even though it says it fits my application.... The "AC" led turns on every time I switch over to defroster and you can't change the internal bulb like oem.

Easy install. No adjustments needed. Pulled out old unit, popped in new, less than two minutes.
