Makes a huge improvement to an already great set
Do I think all Lego kits need lights? No. Do I think the R2 model is vastly improved by this one? Absolutely. I have done two lighting kits for sets at this point and Briksmax is the clear winner for me. The wiring is all pre twisted, which means it's less prone to snapping/crushing/breaks. The instructions were pretty clear, though I did have to sometimes backtrack to remember where I had pulled a piece from. I also prefer that they had an actual instruction book and not just a PDF. And I love that there's a USB option and not just batteries. That's really awesome in my opinion.Definitely take your time as you assemble. These are SMALL components, and you need to be patient. Don't be afraid to use the provided tweezers or to remove additional pieces if you need more space to operate. If you take your time, you are sure to see great results.

Really “Brightens” His Lego Collection
Amazing light set! Works perfectly with the R2D2 he received for Christmas. Found several more for his Star Wars busts that we plan to purchase. Great addition to showcase his collection!

Essential addition to complete the build
I absolutely love this lighting kit and it really completes R2. The colors and brightness are spot on. The wires and LEDs are tiny and delicate, and you really had to pay attention to the included instructions. I found having a good set to tweesers helpful.I built the head at the same time following along with the led installation, so I didn't have to take things apart, but had the main body already assembled before adding the LEDs, I found that worked well.

Plan Your Build
OK. First thing I like to say is I am an experienced Lego builder and the option to light this particular kit really attracted me to using this. The end result is well worth the effort and extra money. It truly makes R2 D2 look as he should with the lighting. I would recommend placing the lights as you build the kit when possible. This adds some extra time and a little extra frustration but well worth it to hide the wiring. I went through the instructions for the lighting kit and the Lego kit and marked specific pages where I had to add lighting steps. I used a couple of small drillbits and a Dremel tool to create passages for the wiring to avoid crimping or breakage. This seemed to work out quite well and I had no broken wires or lights after my installation. Do bare in mind the plastic drills much easier and do not make my mistake and drill your finger. The model retained all of its functionality after the build which I feel was partly because of the ability to make wiring hidden and routed away from any moving parts. I would highly recommend this kit for anyone who wants to add that extra Wow to their build.

Very Bright
It was slightly difficult to install, but worth the time to setup.

Hard to assemble but works as advertised
It took me a couple hours to get this kit in place and was moderately frustrating due to how small the pieces were. Opt for the usb option and use a usb extension cord with some sort of switch and this functions similarly to a lamp. Was the cherry on top of my build

Bring your favorite droid to life
There are advantages and disadvantages to each brand of light kit. We do prefer this brand as it tends to use colors you would expect (one light kit kit green under R2), easy to install, once you get use to doing them, and really bring the Lego set to life. Lighting can be confusing the first few times. But once you get use to it, many sets are pretty easy to light. Get use to breaking down parts of the build to light your kits. The first time, that can be painful. But the results are so worth it. I included a shot of one of the shelves where half of the models are lit, including R2, that shows how the lighting can make the sets stand out. Please don’t mind the disarray as we arrange the room better.Light kits are also a good way to add more time with your project for less cost than a new set. And most people enjoy them so much more once lit.

Perfect addition to the Lego Set
Easy to use, set up and gives great effects on the R2D2 model. It brings out the features and sets the model apart from others!
