Here it goes. My mom is old school. I bought it for her for her iPhone 8. I adjusted the height of the connector for her phone. Once I had that fine tune. And I showed her how to dock it properly so that you can feel it click in, now she's a computer genius and knows how to find her phone because it stands upright, she knows how to hook it to an external speaker for Pandora, and... Wait for it... Wait for it... It charges extremely fast! What's there to lose?... I recommend one for every person in the house so they don't keep losing their phones and not knowing where they put it last!! For the price I paid I would have paid double knowing how utilitarian it really is! It is sturdy, and even has a rubber grip on the bottom. It is a no freaking brain or! I'm buying a second one for my roommate, who tried it out before I gave it to my mom to see how he liked it. I'm telling you people buy more than one when you get it. Trust me on this. It's not a Mickey Mouse unit.

I love this docking station for my new iPhone 7 Plus. Very easy to set up. Still not sure what the dial in the back is for, as my phone fit perfectly without any adjustments needed. I read the comments, before purchasing, and someone wrote that it wasn't "aesthetically appealing," but I disagree. It looks great on my nightstand and the phone sits nicely on it. You can use your case on the phone and set it to charge without removing. Very happy with this purchase of a product Made in the USA... How's that for making America Great Again. 😉

I bought one for home, and waited until I got it and used for a little bit before buying one for the office as well. Both stopped working withing 30 days of purchasing. When they worked, they worked great. But then, nothing. I have tried different USB cables, different power supplies. I have un plugged and plugged back in. What happens now is the blue light comes on for about 4 seconds after supplying power and then goes out. My phone does not have a case, and it is a brand new iPhone 8. I have bought other Anker products and was not expecting this. My advice is to look elsewhere for a charger that actually will work for more than 30 days.

Works great on my bedside table. I found that the screw in the back over about a weeks time would rotate lowering the lightning connectors height. To confirm this I marked the screw with a sharpie and sure enough, as I installed and removed the phone it would cause the screw to rotate counter clockwise. This fix was simple, just press a dime behind the screw and no more turning.*** UPDATE *** The original dock got knocked off the nightstand and the lightning connector broke. I ordered another since the original was great but they have changed the design. The Dock used to have a rubber base and that stopped it from sliding, the new dock has a stick base, like the kind found on a windshield suction cell phone holder. If sticks very well but now I am unable to easily rotate the phone so I can see it from different angles. Not sure what the sticky stuff is going to do to my wooden night stand. If you leave the plastic on the base covering the sticky surface it slides all around and tips over. They also seem to have lightened to base, the original had weights in the bottom, those feel gone so if you don't stick it down the base lifts up when the phone is lifted from the dock. Finally the lightning connector is no longer spring loaded and flops back and forth making it quite a challenge to plug your phone in while in a thin case with less than a bright light and multiple attempts. Not great in the bedroom if your spouse is sleeping. The original cases charging port was spring loaded so it was always in the same place, now it just flops back and forth. Had I known these changes were made I would have never reordered the dock. I'd send it back but I trashed the box when I rec'd the dock.

The first unit I ordered had a connection problem between the cable and the base. If I held the cable tight to the base with my hand, or later using a rubber band, it seemed to work properly.Importantly, this base allows you to not only recharge the phone battery, but also to connect the phone to your computer to interface with the phone through iTunes on your computer. This is the main reason I bought the product - to have a way to stand up my phone on a connected base near my computer and not have to connect it with a cable, with the cable and phone cluttering up the top of my desk. So, mission accomplished there. It even worked with an old iPhone 8.The main problem is that quality control for this product seems to be hit or miss. Looking at the reviews, there is a mix of good and bad reviews. I'm guessing, if you happen to get a hit, then you'll love the product and write a good review. If you happen to get a miss, then you'll hate the product and write a bad review. In my case, I got a partial hit, in that it was okay for the first purchase if I add the rubber band to hold the cable tight, but I don't really want a rubber band wrapped around the base. I'd prefer a cleaner look with a cable that works properly.So, I tried ordering another one, and for the second unit, the base did not work at all - a complete miss, or so it seemed at first. On a whim, I tried connecting the cable from the second order to the base from the first order, and it worked very well. So far, it has been working well for a little over two weeks now.My advice: Given the apparent quality control issues, you may want to by two or three of these, then mix and match the bases and cables from multiple sets until you find a pair of them that work, and then return the non-functioning hardware for a refund.

I am using the charging stand with a iPhone 7 that has a case on it. I do not have to take off the case to charge it, however, I tried to charging my wife's iPhone 6plus in a case and the stand was unable to charge it. I will add that it provides a quick full charge. It does have a unique adjustment wheel that will assist you in making a solid connection if your case is not to thick.
