Like playing a game with an IMAX screen.
First I've been looking at this screen since the original G9 came out. After hearing about all the problems and not having the best graphics card I decided to put it on hold. Then the neo came out and again my interest was piqued. But at the eye watering greater than 2000 price I put it on the backburner. Finally Prime day comes along and I now have a 3080ti so I decided to pull the trigger. I am glad I did.My first thought upon unboxing was honestly mild buyers remorse and guilt. This thing is huge, like seriously enormous. I watched every video possible and nothing does it justice like seeing it in person. I had a 34" Alienware before and they can't even be slightly compared. However, after playing games with it and working on it I can honestly say it's incredible. I came to the conclusion one evening after testing MW, Apex, Far cry and a few others that I'm now playing games on an IMAX screen. As far as some games that don't support 32:9 aspect, it DOES get a little stretched on the sides, but I've found that if you play with the FOV in-game, you can minimize the problem. You also get used to whatever remains.First night I installed it, I inspected it closely and did a dead pixel test and luckily my unit is fine. I haven't noticed any flickering issues, and my unit came with up-to-date firmware saving me the hassle. HDR also works well, though I suspect I'll be updating my system to WIN11 soon for better implementation.***One serious problem I had was that when initially starting games, sometimes the display port would say no signal detected and the monitor would go into standby. I had to hard restart my computer to get the picture back. Some wonderful redditor however made this suggestion and I hope it helps someone else out if they have this issue (See below)IN NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL ---> "Adjust Desktop Size and Position" ---> check "NO SCALING".This instantly solved my problem. I'm unsure if it's because I have other monitors attached or what but I almost returned it for this issue.Note on graphics card: As mentioned I have a 3080ti. I honestly would not have picked this monitor up without a top end graphics card, because if you do, you will not be able to fully utilize it's capabilities. Even with my 3080ti I am not able on ultra graphics to get anywhere near a 240hz refresh rate, mostly I get below 100 unless I turn settings down. However thanks to DLSS now it can help those with a lesser card. I would not do it unless you have a 3070 or higher though if you really want the best out of your purchase. With a few settings turned down and DLSS implemented where possible, I'm getting about 130-170hz on most games now.Overall, I'm stoked, and really happy that I was patient to put my rig spec together first. Doing so netted me the newer version of this monitor at a *discounted* $1499 price that I'm ok with for the quality. I've been gaming for a long time, and have heard reviewers say that this is as close to VR as you get without having a VR headset. I have a VR headset and can confirm, it's pretty epic.Haven't had it too long yet but if any issues arise I will update this review.Overall, very satisfied and blown away.Hope this helped you :)

So Far So Good
[Update After 5.5 weeks] About 50% of the time upon waking from sleep, the monitor will flicker. Fix is to restart the monitor. Currently using a 10' Club 3d DisplayPort Cable but likely will try a 10' Maxonar DP cable to see if that resolves the issue. Installed the Samsung Monitor Driver (a little tricky) but had no percievable impact. Having HDR on most of the time. Adjusted the brightness & contrast through the Nvidia Control Panel. Using a custom Nvidia driver (w/o GeForce Experience files) which greatly improves MSFS framerate. (30-40% ). Google "msfs2020 huge performance increase". So far greatly enjoying the monitor experience! The manufacturing date & location of my monitor is January 2022 in Mexico.[Original Post]I now have had this monitor for 12 days replacing 3xHP Omen 32" monitors used as individual monitors and with Nvidia Surround (7680x1440). In some respect this is a step down (less real estate) however I now have no bezels, 4K, 120/244 Hz, and curvature. Assembly was relatively easy with 1 person. After assembly and putting the back cover on, I realized I needed to upgrade the firmware to the latest 1011. With the back cover on, one can't access the USB ports. I used my auto trim tools to remove the back cover...easy. After the update, I installed a USB extension so I could update the monitor in the future with the back cover on. I did not notice any monitor improvement after the update but others have said that Samsung made positive changes to the HDR. I did get a total monitor black screen a few hours later which would only go away after restarting the monitor. I did read from others that I should have immediately rebooted the monitor after the firmware update, so I assume this was the cause. No issues since. I used EIZO to test the monitor and confirmed no dead pixels in the various colors. All good.My learning so far is that depending on the game, I have to change the response time. Still working on this but MSFS seems to work best at 60Hz when running at 5120x1440. Got more work to do with the sim to get smooth flying. Also experimented running the sim in a 2560x1440 window on the monitor.Smoothness is much better but immersion is lacking. Dying Light 2 and Assassin's Creed Valhalla run fine with ultra settings at 240Hz. Hitman 3 best performance is 120Hz. Current experience is I have to access the monitor menu frequently. My system is a 5900x OC (~4.9GHz) CPU and GTX 3080 OC GPU.I currently have HDR off due to the relative darkness of the screen but still trying how to best use this setting. I also will change scaling in Windows settings from 100% to 125% depending on the work I do. I've installed Samsung's Easy Setting Box for app window positioning. The app is pretty simple and I like that. Also have Display Fusion which is technically better but is more complicated. So to each his own. Will give an update after a few more weeks of use.
