FIDECO USB 3.0 to SATA or IDE Adapter, Hard Drive Adapter Cable Universal for 2.5/3.5 inch SATA HDD/SSD & IDE HDD with 12V Power Adapter

I’ve had ZERO issues with this product (Mac or PC), not overly priced and the adapters all fit any type of hard drive you could think of it will connect to it

The adapter works as advertised. Got access to 3 of 5 old drives, 2 were no longer functioning. I verified this by connecting them to an old PC. The access time even on a very old drive was reasonably fast on a USB 3.2 port. I was even able to install and run Linux Mint on one of them and it seamed faster than the older PC's access time.I like that the wires in the 4 pin molex power connector have been epoxied or glued in place it provides a much sturdier feel to to the plug. I also like that the USB cable is removable. Though the selection to use a 2 sided USB A type cord leaves me scratching my head. Why in 2024 is this being sold without a USB C port, and I think this is my only issue with this USB to IDE, 2.5 IDE, and SATA connector.The USB C cord is about 3-feet or one meter. It feels of a reasonable quality. And the additional power supply wall wart has about 6-feet or two meter of cord. And has an output of 12 volts at 3000ma,Though the issue with IDE drives are different jumper settings that may need to be set or changed. This device or any other one cannot magically make a old broken drive, or one with the jumpers not set properly work.

This adapter does exactly what it’s supposed to — I was able to access files from both old IDE hard drives and newer SATA SSDs without much trouble. Transfer speeds were fast enough for backups and recovery jobs.That said, the setup isn’t super intuitive, especially for IDE drives. You’ll want to double-check jumper settings and follow the instructions closely. The included power adapter is a must for 3.5” drives, and thankfully it worked without any issues.Once it’s running, it’s reliable. A great tool to have if you’re working with multiple types of drives.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I love the versatility of this adapter. It supports SATA and older ATA/IDE drives. This is a very good investment.

For someone who works on computers for a living, this is a great product. Old hard drives and new.

This thing works!!I had a project to recover files from 4 different old drives. I used every connection this device offered. Worth every penny. Great product!!

Needed something to access older IDE drives and this was well rated with lots of good reviews.I mostly concur.Works well and it is very straightforward. You can access IDE drives, SATA drives and laptop SATA Drives. The only negative is that the power supply cord for the IDE drives is very flimsy and quite short. I really prefer wires and connectors that feel solid and not like you might accidentally pull the sires out of the connector just while plugging it in or removing it. Used it to pull files off of an old desktop hard drive. Plugged it in and it worked immediately. Was able to recover pictures from 20 years ago that were saved nowhere else. Great product!
