The External GPS Receiver adds speed and location data to your videos. Speed: speed data–in Km/h or Mph–will be overlaid in the video (can be turned off in the dashcam’s settings). Location: you can visualize the location of your vehicle in the BlackVue Viewer’s Map during video playback.

Easy to install
Works great. Plug in and ready to go with X590 unit. Adhesive has been on with no issue for a few months now.

Added this to ensure accurate time and speed. Wish Blackvue just included GPS on this model but since they didn't I had to get this. It works as advertised.

I recently picked up a BlackVue DR590X Dashcam. I went back and forth on whether or not I wanted to include the optional GPS and ended up deciding I did want it. It appears to be an authentic BlackVue GPS and works as expected.

Perfect Option For Your BlackVue DR590X DashCam
I like the BlackVue DR590 dashcam as it is very good quality while still being affordable.Unfortunately, it does not have built-in GPS. However, this little beauty corrects that.With this option, you have accurate in-video speed in your recordings, and map positioning when viewing the videos in the BlackVue app.

Works great with the Blackvue Camera HOWEVER to be able to 'see' the GPS location, one must download the Blackvue viewer software. No big deal. Easy to DL and install.
