The Innovative, Indispensable, Mess-free, Easy-to-use ZYLISS Mango Gadget That Will Make You Smile!
The "ZYLISS 3-in-1 Mango Slicer, Peeler & Pit Remover Tool - Kitchen Mango Depitter & Peeler Gadget - Fruit Slicer with Micro-Serrated Stainless Steel Blade" arrived promptly and was just as described online. The slicer has several nice features that make slicing a mango quick and easy.PROS:* ZYLISS is a well-respected Swiss company that has been manufacturing tools of excellence since 1951. I have found that their products are innovative, well-made, durable and are priced competitively.* This Mango Slicer is no exception. I purchased three mangos to try out my new gadget. On my first attempt at slicing I was delighted at how easily and mess-free it prepared the fruit for serving.* This innovative slicer holds the mango in place, peels, slices and removes the pit and skin in seconds.* The tool has extremely sharp, micro-serrated Stainless Steel blades that remove the large pit with minimal waste.STEPS IN SLICING and PEELING A MANGO:1. Place the mango on the yellow silicone fruit holder pit side up.2. Position the blade on the top of the mango and press down on the side handles evenly to remove the pit.3. Peel away the skin using the sides of the yellow fruit holder.* I discovered that not all mangos slice successfully. Of the three mangos that I processed, one had a large, mushy brown spot on the interior (not visible on the exterior) and was inedible. The other two sliced easily and cleanly and provided a soup bowl full of delicious mango flesh. I cut the pieces to smaller size with a knife and we enjoyed them with our breakfast.SUMMARY:I have never found a ZYLISS kitchen tool that didn't perform well. This mango slicer is the reason I am eating mangos today, with no mess and no frustration! It's a handy tool for would-be mango lovers who hate a big mess. This is another innovative and indispensable kitchen tool that is an excellent value for the money.Enjoy your mangos!Highly Recommended.

It works well!!
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I’m lucky to have a friend with a mango tree, and she shared her harvest with me. When a dozen ripened at once, this tool made it sooo easy (if a bit juicy) to slice and peel them quickly and safely.

Works Well on Mangos that are not too Big or too Ripe
As long as you have a mango that isn't too big and not too ripe this is a great tool! A fun little tool that can help cut down the time of preparing mangoes.

Works great!
The mango slicer works great! It’s quick and easy too! Make sure the small metal emblem is showing on the top of the handle when you press down and make sure your Mango is standing straight up with the point and push down just once don’t turn it over because it’s very sharp on the other side. You can use the other piece to take the skin off but I found I didn’t need to do that since I was just eating it myself, but it would be good if you were cutting it up and using it in a recipe or with other fruit.

Game changer for cutting mango!
TOTAL GAME CHANGER! I love mango but absolutely hate trying to cut it. I have watched YouTube videos and other tutorials on how to do it but am never able to cut around the pit and usually end up throwing the whole thing away. Well, this solves that problem. Just set the mango in the base with the stem side up, center the slicer on the mango, and push down. The pit gets caught in the middle of the slicer leaving two nice, clean mango halves to eat. You can then use the base to remove the mango from the skin (though I have struggled with that part a bit). Either way, this is by far the easiest way to cut a mango and is well worth making space in your cabinet for another "kitchen gadget." :)

Man it sure is easy
Great buy, it was one of the more expensive mango cutters but it really does the job. Very easy clean up. Most of the other ones were just the cutting tool, this one has a base that is the holder of the fruit (keeps it from rolling around. Plus the base has side edges that allow you to push the mango down the side and separate the skin. Big help makes it fast.

When it works, it's great but
I eat a lot of mangos so this seemed to be a clean way to separate the pulp from the stone/pit. When everything is lined up perfect it does a decent job of getting most of the pulp away from the stone. Lining it up to exactly slice around the stone is a challenge so frequently you end up cutting some of the stone. This results in having to cut it away with a knife (not a big deal since it is usually a small piece). However the small teeth on the tool frequently bend over so I use a small pair of pliers to pull them back straight. Any pulp left on the stone is either trimmed or eaten off the stone. I never use the peeler function so once I separate the pulp from the stone, I cross hatch each side (making squares) and then cut it into strips. to eat, bend the strips and the squares pop up for easy eating. Even with it's faults, I think it is better than trying to hold on to the slippery mango to cut it with a knife.
