Cool helmet
It’s a cool helmet, however it’s nearly impossible to get the face shield on without a second set of hands, in addition, the black leather inside the helmet flakes off and gets everywhere, but once it all flakes off after wearing it enough then it won’t be a problem anymore, I just haven’t worn it since the face shield keeps the ear flaps anchored down and my ears are a little too big for me to wear it when they aren’t anchored down or they might clip my ears, but other than that it’s relatively comfortable given the fact that it’s a steel helmet, but I don’t know how comfortable it is once you get the face shield on since I don’t have anyone to help me get it on

Very happy
I love the helmet. It fit my husband perfectly. He was going on for a while how he wanted a knights helmet. So when I saw this one I had to get it. Wonderful purchase very satisfied.

Pieces dont fit together like in the picture
The media could not be loaded. Helmet is sturdy but the pieces just dont fit, as shown in the video. which was its selling point. Also, the right side panel groove doesnt fit into the visor. The weight and metal are good, but I cant keep it because of those flaws which make the whole set unwearable.I was hoping for at least a passable quality. It just needed a bit more workmanship to be of reasonable quality.

In Between
My son is 13 and he wanted this for Christmas. He actually thought it was too heavy for him, but he still likes it. I would suggest a kids style or something for kids if it’s for a child.

Not worth the money.
Apparently, this was a defective helmet and may explain why it costs less than others selling at the time. Nothing in the add indicated this. The main problem is the pivoting cheek pieces lower skirt has a sharp bend to conform to the visor. Unfortunately, this bend way to sharp and deep and cuts into your neck. Oviously a design flaw or manufacturing defect as NO ONE would be able to wear this helmet. I modified these two check pieces by cutting the sharp weld, removing some of the steel, and re-soldering. There were also double drilled rivet holes, and a few where the holes were drilled through only one layer of the steel and completely missed the other steel piece. If these helmets are all the say way, skip this purchase.

The bottom doesn't stay on.
This has tarnished quickly. The mouth gaurd do3snt stay up just drops down. Had no extra straps or anything to hold up. My son's has several helmets for show and they all are still in great shape. Easy to clean with the exception of this one. He still loves it for show but no one cam wear it. This one is for looks only unfortunately and have to keep up on the cleaning or the rust spots will get out of control.

Purchase for SCA C&T
Item is as pictured, it is basically two parts. The helmet which is a burgonet helmet and the falling buffe, The falling buffe is a sort of visor that was closed by being drawn up rather than down. It does fully function, but would not have been used for jousting as the description misleads.for a costume piece it is very nice, suitable for Renaissance ear garb; 16th century German, Polish, English, etc. My head at the brow is 23.5 inches and I fit with no adjustments. The jaw is a little tight and might need some adjustment but with light padding it should fit comfortably for SCA Cut and Thrust fighting.See new pictures attached, we chose to get rid of the falling buff and added 16gauge steel perforated steel to the front. I will update soon with how it works in combat.Since I am going to use this for SCA C&T some modifications are needed in order to meet the current SCA Rapier rules - Rigid Material: puncture-resistant material that will not significantly flex, spread apart, or deform under pressure of 12 Kg applied by a standard mask tester, repeatedly to any single point. Examples of rigid material are: • 22 gauge stainless steel (0.8 mm) • 20 gauge mild steel (1.0 mm) • 16 gauge aluminum, copper, or brass (1.6 mm) • This helmet is 18 gauge and while I am sure it will get dented it meets the requirements.Hoping to get pictures up once it is completed. Feel free to ask questions.

A bit of false advertising for this product. The eye slit is MUCH larger than it appears in the photo.
The eye slit on this helm is MUCH larger than it appears in the advertised photo, making this helm quite dangerous to wear in an actual joust without retrofitting another louver to protect the wearer's forehead from being stabbed in combat. It is a nice decorative helm if the buyer does not actually employ the item in any actual combat arena.
