My new goto ear protection.
I previously purchased the older version and encountered wind noise, pops and buzzing. This version is a huge improvement. I tried both the medium and large foam inserts. Both seem to block out the same amount of noise. As far as comfort, they are about the same as foam plugs. I'm not bothered by the tethered volume and battery components and wires. Bluetooth connection was simple to connect to an iPhone. Range is pretty good. I would leave my phone in my range bag, shoot a stage and never got disconnected. So I'd say 15-17 yards range. The volume is pretty loud and I set it at just one level above from silent. Battery life last at least 4 hours. I will not use this at an indoor range . The SNR is too low for my comfort. In those instances, I'd go with foamies and ear muffs; double up. I'm very happy with them. I've only used them around pistols. I'd rather use foamies with any rifle caliber.

So far better than axil and gloryfire
I've been on the hunt for a good pair of earplugs that both protect my hearing, have passthrough sound, have bluetooth, and work with my handheld radio. I've tested the axil xcor pro and the gloryfire earbuds because I really didn't want connected earplugs that would catch and pull on anything. The gloryfire were garbage with terrible fit, sound, and reliability. Axil did okay, decent sound, fairly uncomfortable but started having major bluetooth issues after a few hours. My initial impression of the isotunes so far is that they are the most comfortable of the three. Much easier to operate. The passthrough sound is more natural than the previous two mentioned although still slightly high/almost tinny but not terrible. I will update further once I test radio connectivity/quality and give them a workout.

My opinion compared to the walker razor x retractable ear buds
I specifically only like the type of ear buds that run wires to the main unit which I can wear around my neck. I don’t like the all in one type like air pods style so that didn’t leave me a ton of choices. I have been using the walker razor x retractable which are around a 180 bucks. The way these work and all shooting ear buds is basically you have a foam ear plug that silences the sound like any other $2 foam ear plug. However they have a microphone built in to amplify conversation etc. When a sudden loud noise like a gun shot happens they basically shut off the microphone and your left with the foam ear plug with no power to it so silence sounds like any other foam ear plug. With that said, any brand will sound the same silenced. There is no brand that silences sounds better than another because they all rely on a foam ear plug. Where the difference lies is a good brand is quicker to silence and has a better microphone to pick up sounds when you need it as well as good audio control, comfort and battery life. So let’s get into it, especially compared to the walkers I have been using for a long time.1. Power cut off to silence sudden loud sounds: no difference than the walkers. Almost instantaneous. A+2. Microphone: much better than the walkers at being able to pick up conversation. Almost as good as the big bulky over the head and ear type of headphones which are the best because of the design. However if you lay your check flat against a rifles buttstock to look through a scope, you can’t with the big headphones. That’s why I get these specifically. Where these are worse than the walkers is they pick up more wind noise outside however with the walkers you can’t even barely hear normal conversation. The walkers are garbage as far as that goes. A-3. Audio control: the volume from completely off to the next level up where the microphone picks up stuff is way too much of a big gap. You either hear nothing like a cheap $2 foam plug or go to loud, louder or loudest on the settings. The walker def has these beat here. C4. Comfort: not as comfortable as the walkers. They have a loop that goes over your ear and the wires are not long enough to rest on your neck so they kinda hang there. There is a clothes hook that comes with them however to attach it to a collar etc. The walkers have a neck brace type apparatus that lays on your neck with only a wire going to the ear plugs. An awesome setup. Still, the isotunes are not bad at all and you barely notice them. BBattery life: here is where the walkers really are horrible. Can’t get more than an hour and a half without it dying shutting off. The ISOtunes last much much longer. How long? I don’t know yet but after a 4 hour range session the ISOtunes were still going strong. A+They both have excellent Bluetooth connectivity. Overall, The ISOtunes are def much better than the walkers. You can actually hear when people are talking to you and they don’t die after 90 minutes. Comfort although slightly less is similar. It’s a small gap unlike the battery life and mic clarity. I would buy the ISOtunes again in a heartbeat. Hopefully they last a while and don’t die on me within a few months. I will update any long term observations

Cancel the noise
The battery life has held up great so far. I’ve only had to charge them once during a full weekend of use but I’m sure that will depend on how one uses them. They’re also lightweight and don’t feel bulky which is a big plus. My only complaint at this point (been using over a month now) is the fit. It took me a while to find the right eartip combination, and even now, they sometimes feel loose if I move around too much. Not a dealbreaker, but something to be aware of if you’re on the move a lot. (Also I have this issue with AirPod pros I can never get them to stay they pop out like a contact lens would, so that may just be a me issue).

Game changer!!
These are absolutely amazing! You get the amplified noise with a cutoff AND Bluetooth for music! I’ve used these at the range several times already and love them. I’m usually not a fan of in-ear style anything and have always used my over the ear headphones. Not anymore, I can comfortably shoot and listen to my music all while having the comfort and mobility of a small item. No more jamming a pair of over the ear hearing protection under a helmet, just slide these in and jam away. I got a little bit of wind noise but once I installed the wind pieces that come with it, that was no more. The battery life is also amazing. I used them for several hours at the range at least 5 times and my battery is still over half full. Overall, a 10 out of 5! I’m beyond impressed.

Blocks gunshot effectively
These work as described for shooting. Will block out gunshots while letting normal sounds through. The battery lasts for hours before needing recharged. I haven't actually ran them dead but have had them on for a six hour stretch no problem. I ve hunted with these several times now and my only issues are 1 - theres an audible hiss that I hear the whole time these are on. That said it's not as distracting as you would think, you get accustomed to the noise pretty quick. 2, the cord is a bit short making the buttons impossible to see when you have these on. Not a big deal but something to consider. So far these seem pretty durable. I dropped them off a stand the first time out and they survived nicely. I give this 3 stars only for the hiss...otherwise it's 4. I probably would buy these again if price was my only consideration. Next time I will try to find a more silent option.
