Q: I'm getting crackling and cut outs from one side, rotating connector helps but not much. Do I need new cables?

I had this problem too, and no a different cable won't fix it. It's the actual bud itself (or at least it was for me) basically meaning you got a faulty model. I dealt with it personally but the side eventually just died on me all together. So if you can I'd recommend trying to get them replaced.

No it does not. This is designed solely for music appreciation so there is no mic.

Q: Is this dac-amp sufficient for this headphones on iphone hi-res lossless ? - helm audio bolt dac/amp thanks :)

While I don't have the Bolt dac/amp, it should be fine using it to drive the ie300. The IE300 is very efficient and easily driven by most dac/amp out on the market. I personally own Astell&Kern USB dac which also have a maximum voltage output of 2 volts and I never use more than 25 percent of that power.
