A little softer than the standard hard foam roller.
We purchased this roller to replace a hard foam roller that felt as hard as a piece of wood. The Yes4All roller is softer, but that softness is only a couple of millimeters. What that does is provides you a softer feeling roller without losing the necessary stiffness to work on those muscles (and the spine!). Plus, it's a fun color, so that's a bonus. We bought the 36 inch version because we are not tiny, skinny little twig people. Quality is good, no voids in the foam and it's not brittle in any way. Doesn't leave marks on the hardwood floors after rolling out, it's very light weight. If you are looking for an "almost firm" roller, go with this one.

Not too hard, not too soft, it’s just right
So, I was GOING to share a photo of how “soft” the item is but Amazon wouldn’t let me access my photos even after granting the app full access, so….I’d like to say that for my body, this EVA roller is the perfect hardness. I got an EPP foam roller to begin with and it was hard as a rock! Ugh, SO uncomfortable. This one is great. It does have a few indentations (which I also showed in the photo I couldn’t post), but they in no way affect the quality of the roller, they are inherent in the production of the item.

Wonderful tool
OMG I can’t believe this actually resolved my muscular back pain. I had spasms between my shoulder blades and spine and rolling on this felt so good and it pushed out the spasm. I don’t have the spasms any longer.

Excellent density!
I originally bought one a couple bucks cheaper and firm, it was like a hard styrofoam rock! Literally was painful on my spine. I didn’t want soft, and I found this one! It’s hard enough to work out any problem areas for me it’s my bad posture and I get muscles knots in my shoulder blades areas. It’s wonderful product! I dont use it enough because I work out everyday and dont have the knots now that I work out. But it’s a wonderful size or length and diameter to use to roll out your back from side to side or top to bottom! Stores straight up easily in a closet. Impressed with the quality compared to the speckled weird hard foam… felt like styrofoam vs memory foam like this one. This one says medium; but I would consider it firm. If I’m thinking memory foam it’s definitely firm. However others say firm and it’s literally hard as hard can get, like diamond hard. This one is a perfect balance of firm but soft enough not to fracture your bones lol I’m 5’6” muscular 180lbs and I wouldn’t want it much softer if at all.
