Excellent die grinders, better than CP and IR and less expensive.
I bought the 3/8 inch drive ONYX 1838 Astro first... then I bought the 1/2 inch drive 1832 Astro, the 1/2 inch Thor 1894 impact wrench, the Astro 222 angle and straight die grinders and the Astro 208 3" cut off tool. Have all of these types of tools; but, the ONYX brand is much better than the CP and IR tools for torque and basic functionality. The price was very reasonable for all of these tools, much less money for a much better air tool. I retired some of my older CP and IR impacts and die grinders and I am very happy with the ONYX brand. I had to grind away the recessed pocket in the die grinders for the handles... kept biting my fingers when I squeezed the lever; but, the die grinders and angle cut-off are quiet and very powerful. I have an IR, Air Cat and Earthquake 1/2 inch drive impacts that I have no need of now... the Thor is so much better for removing wheel lugs and such, lots of torque and power. I have a lot of all sorts of pneumatic tools, I am now sold on the ONYX brand. The little angled 1832 1/2 inch and the 1838 3/8 inch impact wrenches are very unique, they are not a pneumatic ratchet wrench, they will both take off wheel lugs as well as some of my big IR and CPs do. I did not think I needed any new pneumatic tools; but, after the purchase of the little 3/8 inch 1838 I realized I was not using the best. I use them constantly... may as well have the best and the price of all of them was very reasonable.

Air hogs but work fairly well
I love Astro products. They're fairly affordable and decent quality. The only thing I'm a little bummed about is that my 26 gallon air compressor doesn't stop running when I'm using these grinders. It can't keep up with the air consumption. I'm not sure if it's my compressor or the air tools.

Good set
Used everyday for months when I was an auto mechanic. Astro is a proven brand at this point. Not that they need my review but I do recommend this product. Would lock up on me once in a while but I also did not oil everyday. Drop a couple drops of oil in it and your back to work.

Handy Tool
Don't let looks deceive you. This heavy-duty combo kit (Model 222) packs a punch. This model consists of a 90-degree Angle Grinder (Model 204), and a medium Angle Grinder (Model 202). The cost for the combo (as of April 2022) was under $100, but it did not come with the 8pc Double Cut Carbide Rotary Burr Set w/ 1/4" Shank (Model 2181). For roughly $30 - $40 more, you can get the 3pc set (Models 204, 201, & 2181) in one purchase, and shipped together for approximately $136. Please keep in mind that these prices are subject to change due to unpredictable resources and demand in the current market. You will not be disappointed with this product. Happy Shopping!!!Chris - TC Mgr

Affordable
Not too sure on the 1/2 hp. Doesn’t feel as powerful as my coworkers 1/3 ho subtext. But overall not bad.

Quiet, powerful and the hand feel is awesome.
Great pair of grinders. Quiet, powerful and the hand feel is awesome. Use daily and can't find an issue with them at all. Yet just another great product from Astro.

The good, the bad, and the mediocre.
Overall, the tools are nicely made, but Astro got some of the details pretty badly wrong. These are inexpensive tools, so my expectations are tempered by that understanding. What's strange to me is that they got the expensive things right and the inexpensive things wrong. The quality (expensive) is pretty good. The basic details (inexpensive) are poorly considered.First, and worst: The rubber molding around the body of the tools feels nice, but the molding is recessed for the operating levers. On the angle grinder, the molding is surprisingly sharp and reliably pinches the skin on my hands when squeezing the lever. It's an awful design and the sharp edge is probably dangerous to anyone with soft hands. It's a hard rubber, but it's actually sharp enough to cut. My hands are reasonably tough, but it still really hurts to get pinched with the mechanical advantage of a long lever against a sharp edge. I resolved this problem by trimming away the molding with a knife, which totally fixed the problem, but now it looks like a hacked up used tool. The other [straight] die grinder has the same rubber molding design, but the edges aren't sharp, and the larger diameter of the tool body seems to prevent pinching. I think it may be especially prone to pinching loose gloves, however I've not used the tools with gloves yet.The second issue I have with these is that they use different wrenches. Seriously? Four different wrenches are needed to change dies on two tools! Of course, none of these wrenches are clearly labeled for which tool they go to either. I have a huge bin of cheap, unlabeled, stamped sheetmetal wrenches for various air tools, almost none of which share a common wrench size. At least air tool manufacturers have settled on a standard collet size for the dies! Some of the other Astro tools include air fittings, which is a nice touch. These do not.I would probably buy these again, but if I found myself using them often, I'd likely buy something better.
