Q: can scotty's keto bread mix be used in a bread machine

Scotty's Everyday Keto Bread Mix was created so people can make fresh baked, keto, and gluten free bread at home without any fancy equipment. You can actually mix the dough with a wooden spoon if you choose. For best results, we recommend you follow the "easy to make" instructions on the back of the package.

Q: There are conflicting reports that this does and doesn't spike blood sugar. Which is it really? If yes, maybe you ate something else with the bread?

The answer to that is up to each individual. Different people are affected by different foods. Unfortunately the only way you will know if to test for yourself. It may not affect you blood sugar, but may affect your insulin production

Q: How many grams for each slice after prepared? The nutrition label only has the dry mix weight

14 servings in the whole bag so 1/14 would be 1 slice out of 14 slices. If you cut the bread fairly even into 14 slices the weight of 1 piece should be 20grams

Q: Can a sourdough starter be used instead of the yeast packet? If so, how much starter would be appropriate?

This is not something we have tried. Most sourdough starters are made from wheat flour. Our Keto Bread Mix is Gluten Free.
