Great device. Two tools in one, Great quality.
Excellent chuck. Very strong and built with high quality materials. Very strong jaws. Has a ratcheting clutch like action and sound to it when hand tightening the chuck. Easy to loosen as well. Never comes loose when you are using it. Stays tight on your bit during all actions. When I got this unit, I took off the SDS adapter shaft and put it on a regular keyed chuck. I've heard that using a keyed chuck with a hammer drill, is better overall, rather than using a keyless chuck with a hammerdrill. I'm sure that it would have worked just fine with a hammerdrill though. So I put just the keyless chuck on my regular 1/2" drill, and I used the SDS adapter shaft on a keyed chuck for use with my hammerdrill. Easy to mount this chuck, and easy to use. In my opinion, this is the best keyless chuck I have ever used, and I have used many many others of different brands and sizes. Can't go wrong with the quality and design of this chuck, and having the SDS adapter shaft is a great tool to have on hand as well.

Nice sturdy easy to use!
This chuck is easy to tighten and provides an audible and tactile indication that it is tightened around the drill bit! Seems to be built sturdily and will stand up to heavy use.

Good product, some give from the SDS Plus.
This product is great. Two things:(1) The SDS Plus system usually gives about 1/2 inch of movement for the rotary hammer to bounce up and down to impact the rear of a concrete drill bit. That means that this adapter, which plugs into an SDS Plus socket, also has about 1/2 inch of movement before your pressing or pulling engages it. I doubt anyone is using this for tight spaces or for finessing specific drill depths, but if you are, you might run into some difficulties.(2) There is a locking mechanism on this which isn't really described. In short, it will tighten on the bit until it can tighten no more. If you spin it slightly further, it will lock the bit with a firm amount of pressure. In order to remove the lock, you need to first turn it slightly in the direction of tightening it and then reverse the spin to loosening the grip. You will hear a click then and it is unlocked and you can continue loosening it.There was nothing in the directions about this and it may be a common thing, but as a DIY person who is replacing a very old hammer drill, this was news to me and it would have been nice to figure it out someway other than by trial an error.

Overall gives good functionality
This is probably the best quality SDS Plus keyless chuck on Amazon. That being said it does the job for me but I noticed some runnout at the end of my drill bit when I ran my cordless hammer drill. It has never effected my work because I wouldn't be doing precision work with a cordless drill anyway. Also, as noted in other reviews, when the chuck is in the drill, it has the ability to move about a quarter inch axially in either direction. This does not effect any or my drilling operations because you will always be pressing into the workpiece and so you really don't notice it when drilling.Pros:-overall quality-keyless design-decent priceCons:-the chuck has some runnout to it. not intended for precise applications.-it can oscilate back and forth in the hammer drill (probably not an issue to most people)

Bosch Hex Chuck Adapter is Very Cheaply Made!
Wow! Super cheap and cheaply made! We had to put this chuck in a bench vise in order to try to remove the hex shank since it does not come out easily even though they claim it comes right off! Instantly the Bosch Hex Chuck Adapter started to cave in on the sides and became all mis-shaped, no longer round, not even close, when under the slightest amount of pressure on the sides while being held in your average garage bench vise. Ridiculous! They definitely did not put much of anything into making this product. I feel it was just another way to get their name on another item, since they did not make it themselves. Bosch to me, was all about making quality products, or so it used to be. This product was clearly manufactured by another company for the soul purpose of making money and adding another item to Bosch inventory, and not to provide something useful and quality like I used to expect from a company like Bosch. Do not buy this! You're welcome!
