Dayton AudioDC28FT-8 1-1/8" Silk Dome Truncated Tweeter

Easy installation great sound

A very high-quality speaker, but they sent me with adhesive protection in the dome itself, any dust, polyester, easily stuck to it, I had to remove the protective film ... I think in the warehouse, due to humidity, the film began to deteriorateI couldn't return the item because I'm not in America.

I bought these to replace the tweeters in a recently acquired pair of KEF C40's. The original tweeters had a rubberized coating on them that had completely flaked off. This had a very negative impact on the sound, it was very dull and muffled in the high ranges.Because of the KEF's design, a truncated surround was necessary. I came across these tweeters on Parts Express and the dimensions were very close to what I was looking for. The outer plate is provides perfect coverage, but the screws did not line up, and the terminal location made it so I had to modify the enclosure to be about 3mm wider on one side. No big deal, in the end they look perfect, as if they were original equipment. In fact, I think they look better than the stock tweeter.Now for the sound... Fantastic! After a few hours of break in these really come alive. Very clear and articulate, but not the slightest bit of harshness. Very smooth, yet present. For an 89 db rating they certainly keep up with the dual 8" woofers in these speakers. They improved the sound of the C40's beyond my expectation. I never heard the stock tweeter when it was in new condition, but based on build quality, I would say the Dayton is an upgrade no matter what.The only thing that concerns me is how delicate the silk dome is, especially seeing it is tacky feeling. I've already noticed a few hairs stuck to it that I had to clear off. We will see how well these hold up, but for now I am very satisfied. For $16 a piece these are an excellent bargain.My biggest problem now is that my KEF's sound so good now, I no longer want to listen to my JBLs that I love so much...

I am pleased with the quality and sound of the tweeter. however , on the one I bought there is no polarity marked on the tweeter, and no way to determine which is terminal is plus and which is minus. tweeter comes with zero paperwork, and nothing on the website. does anyone have an answer as to the + or - question on the terminals ?

Tweeter sonically perfect for my speaker - ADC 303AX. Was unable to source DC28F-8 1-1/8" Silk Dome Tweeter 8 Ohm.Much to my chagrin, the tweeter was too large for the speakers tweeter opening by a hair. I had to ream out the speaker's tweeter opening to fit the replacement. The DC28F-8 would have been too large, also.Tweeter dust cap protrudes and comes in contact with the speakers grill.

I used these Dayton tweeters to replace the tired old tweeters in my kef c40s that I'd had for over 35 years or more, and what difference they made! They sound incredible, and have brought these old beauties to life - and hopefully another 35 years of musical enjoyment. Using sound dampening and making the speaker boxes more rigid has also helped, but these Dayton tweeters were the icing on the cake. No need to change the crossover. The Kef's now sound much better than my new Klipsch RPs. Theses Daytons are magic!

I've been using Dayton audio for years and I got to tell you some of the best tweeters I've ever heard come from this company. Don't worry you can find replacement speakers for just about anything these units are quality manufactured never had any issues with him whatsoever Hardy and built to last. by the way these soft Dome tweeters were in audiophile magazines for a long time not many people talk about them anymore but they still are selling the same silk soft Dome Tweeter that they did back in the day. Give it a shot
