This is a great piece of kit that allows you to extend runs of POE Ethernet cable. Typically Ethernet has a limit of 100m lengths but this gadget uses the power provided over POE Ethernet to power itself and boost the single for another run of 100m. These devices can be chained a couple of times for really long runs.This means you don’t need a mains powered POE hub between lengths of cable.It comes with weather proof connectors and is quite compact.Overall a brilliant solution.

The Cudy POE15 Gigabit Outdoor extender arrived in a normal brown cardboard packaging. From the packaging, you will probably not get a feeling that it is a premium quality product but as soon as you start using it, you will realise that it works flawlessly.The package included just the extender and an instruction manual but if you know why you bought it, then you can have it up and running without even looking at the manual. It took me less than 5 minutes to have it all setup. I was looking to connect my garage router with the main broadband hub as I have moved my home office in the garage to avoid any more distractions but due to the length of the cable required, I didn't want to spend another £100 on a PoE switch. This was really useful to connect 2 30m Ethernet cables which I already had and extend my Ethernet connectivity into my garage.The extender consists of a sturdy plastic housing and can be hung thanks to the included mounting kit. It uses the power of the ethernet connection to extend the length of the cable possible in a network. It feels really watertight and since I have connected it, I havent seen any issues even though the extender is mounted on the exterior wall of the garage and faces the full force of nature.I have connected my router in the garage using this which is connected to my laptop and my work pc and they all seem to perform much better now compared to the WiFi setup that I had in place earlier.Pros: -- Plug and play- Solid build- WaterproofCons- Haven't seen any in my limited useOverall, this switch fulfils all of my requirements and works really well in my current setup.
