Erratic responsiveness
It was my favorite part of my kitchen renovation, esp. when my hands aren’t free. But:(1) It has become kind of unpredictable in responding to my foot underneath it. I’ve tried different adjustments through the app. With a little wiggling of my foot, I can eventually get the opener to activate.(2) The optional light shining on the floor is too large. The only option is to turn it off, tho that makes finding the electric eye location a little more difficult.(3) Each time I want to adjust the settings via the app, I have to crawl on the floor and try to find the Reset button in order to connect my phone wirelessly to it. Kind of a pain, but once you’ve set the 3 options, you’re unlikely to need the app again to change settings.

Totally over engineered but I love it
This thing is great. It’s way better than the IKEA and Blum electronic hinge openers because it doesn’t require a micro switch to bump into to open it. This uses a proximity IR sensor.Installation is easy enough with a good multi tool but you need to cut fairly accurately; the screw holes are set very close to the body of the item itself. This thing has WiFi. Seriously? It has its own internal web page for settings adjustments? Totally unnecessary but I do love adjusting all the settings…but you can’t help but wonder if this could have been done with DIP switches.Supposedly you can connect it to Alexa but I never got this to work. I could also never find an app for this item, only for window shades that the company makes.Did I mention I also love the night light that it effectively has?
