La Preferida Organic Authentic Refried Beans, 15 oz

I'm cautious of what I eat and it's been hard finding this brand and amazon does it again. Good price and fast shipping. These are the best refried beans out there!

There's not much to say about refried beans. Either you love them or you hate them is most people's attitude.I happen to love them, because the way I learned to make an empenada was with refried beans, cheese, and whatever hot sauce floats your boat.These beans aren't greasy, although there was a bit of oil at the top of the can. They taste great and they're organic. While I don't eat them very often (once every week or two, something like that) when I do, I'm using these.Recommended. 5/5*

Great product

I like that these are organic as I've read online that pinto beans are sprayed with pesticides. The flavor is lacking likely due to the lower salt content. The fat-free nonorganic version from this brand, and other brands, use abouit twice the amount of salt per serving. So, that can be a good or bad thing depending on individual needs. I season these beans with an organic salsa Verde and vegan cashew cheese sauce, and the taste is better. Not sure if I will buy these again. Definitely convenient.

I recently had to go in search of a new source of refried beans, as my old favorites were discontinued by the manufacturer. I wanted plain refried beans without any added flavors or spices - not easy to find, it turns out. The plain refried beans my store carried tasted ok, but were the consistency of baby food and by the time you heated them up, were practically soupy. So I turned to the internet, and after much searching discovered these. Based on the ingredients and the positive reviews here, I bought a case. I was not disappointed! As soon as I opened the can, I knew that this was it. Here was a solid pack of mashed beans, so thick I even added a little water to make it my preferred consistency. Great flavor, too.

These taste better than this brands non-organic version. I can get them a little cheaper locally but if you factor in the cost of driving to the store and back, it’s a wash.
