I bought a Fluval Edge 6 gallon fish tank two years ago and have been using these carbon filters ever since.The price is more than reasonable for a once a month replacement and these are fairly easy and straightforward to replace. All you need to do is wash it to get rid of any loose carbon dust and replace it in your filter enclosure.Replacing it once a month keeps my tank crystal clear and seams to keep my fishes happy as well :)

On my 29g planted tank I run a canister filter with coarse sponge that I clean very infrequently, and a small hang off the back filter with floss or polishing pads that I swap out often. Most of the time my setup runs clean, but whenever I catch a whiff of fish tank stink, I throw one of these in the hang on back and It takes care of the problem.Don't be stinky, keep some carbon on hand.
