This was an easy fix and gave me back the normal use of my dryer! Has continued to work fine for a long time.

My dryer quit working. My husband said, “ oh great call a repairman. I like to repair things myself- I feel good when I can “do it myself,” and I am frugal. I kept checking things and opening and closing the dryer door. I realized that the dryer worked finally, but when I put the clothes in, it stopped again. First I thought it was short, but recalled the door had this safety switch-it was broken. I was happy to find this part on Amazon and took a chance that it would be the part I needed- it looked just like it. My husband helped me remove the old broken one, so, when the part came it didn’t take long to put the part on. It is working just like my old part did when it was not broken. So thankful I was able to purchase this for such a reasonable price! Thank you so much, I am a happy repairwoman! My husband is happy that it was an easy, cheap fix and of course was happy and felt lucky to have me- he told me so!

The switch on my Whirlpool dryer door stopped working. I hot-wired it until this replacement came it. It was an exact fit for my washer and it is working as good as new.

My Whirlpool dryer door switch broke. (I've been fixing my appliances for years and have found that most manufacturers use the same parts GE=Whirlpool=Kenmore, etc.) I found this item which looks similar; the only visible difference is that this switch has 3 wires, while the plug on mine has 2 wires. I bought this anyway, since it was $10 cheaper than the "correct" switch for my dryer. I figured if I had to, I could spice the old plug onto this switch and use it that way, but it wasn't necessary to do any modifications. The 2 outer prongs on this plug matched the 2 on my dryer, there was an empty space in the dryer plug for the middle prong to occupy, and the plastic housings snapped together just like the original. It was easy to install and works fine. I can't speak to durability, but my dryer has been running for the last 15 minutes with no problem!
