doesn't always turn on UPDATE!! FIX CHANGED RATING dont plug usb in pc
And even then sometimes it doesn't display I called Samsung they gave me instructions which did not fix the issue Last purchased Jun 14, 2023 I procrastinated in returning this item now its too late too, the only thing i can say if your stuck with this like i am is if you have a quest 3 you can see the pc windows if the monitor doesn't turn on and what i did was turn off hdr then the monitor screen came on idk why also i get screen flickering when adaptive sync is on and i have a NVidia 3080ti besides the issues it is great but don't try to reset your pc with this monitor because it will restart to reset and the monitor wont display in THE MIDDLE OF A OS RESET which messed up my first windows reset because i had to restart the pc cuz the monitor didn't display this monitor has caused me and my dad many problems trying to fix it and stress I would not advice purchasing it again to be honest im scared to buy another monitor period after this journey I have the tried the Dp2.1 whatever the highest is and the hdmi its always the same every morning I ponder how my day is going to go is the monitor going to turn on or will I be troubleshooting it is very tiresome if you read this please replace my monitor send it to get it repaired send me a new one this is the second time i bought this monitor only because the first one I was moving my room around it the screen cracked, so I have been a valid customer in purchasing a second at paying for paying so much I think I should get a break I am more worried about is it going to work in the future when i get a new pc setup or is it going to cause more issues like it allready has my pc works fine its a alienware aurora r13 with all the updates and i updated this monitor as well to software verision M-T9549GGAA-1016.0I like to fix things I kept thinking I fixed this monitor but a year later i realized i have not and i wish i returned it almost had a breakdown after the monitor didnt turn on when i was resetting my windows pc i thought i destroyed my pc thank god I didn't but there are chances that can happen if you have to reboot during a OS Installation...so if screen won't turn on and your stuck my instructions are1.turn monitor on wait 3 seconds then pc (if your pc is different then my Processor:"12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-12900KF it might be different times)2. make sure you remove your login password so the pc boots to windows then use the quest link to turn off hdr that worked once so far, offcouse i could turn hdr back on after the monitor was on and it didn't intefere yet so idk why that worked.3.if your screen is flickering on desktop turn off adaptative sync on in the monitor settings (which im upset I can't use which is part of the reason i purchased)UPDATE!!! I had the USB hub plugged into the computer and since then it has been working normal!!! so I hope this helps I change my rating I just wish the monitor would automatically turn on sensing the PC was booted on, I guess I have to leave the monitor on for that but anyway I love this monitor

Great Monitor. The Best!
The best! I wavered between this monitor and an 45inch LG Ultragear OLAD and finally went two of these Samsung monitors. Both monitors are working great and extended from a laptop. While they are a but heavy, recommend two person lift and setup, they are great from gaming a d productivity. The LGs were nice as well but the curve was a bit too much for me. Some other reviews have stated burn-in and problems with lines but I haven't had either happen. Just remember to turn it off or useca screen saver when not in use, simple care and consideration. GREAT MONITOR.

Samsung g9 indepth reivew
This model of this monitor appears to have really poor QA and Fabrication. There are multiple monitors models for the 49 in g9. I'd love for Samsung to tell us why. I received a panel with a stuck pixel and some minor lines which i can only compare to scan lines. The second monitor I received had deep lines visible on the screen visible really under any blue background. Lets go in depthPros:1. its 240 HZ. It has an adaptive sync module compatible with gsync ( under certain conditions)2. Its huge amazing for productivity.3. response times are great. Better than really any other monitor I have owned4. HDR is decent. Not super amazing but you can at least tell the difference and in my opinion better than the HDR on the g75. Dual Display Port6. Curve !!!Cons:1. May have stuck pixels2. May have really bad horizontal lines3. After your return period from wherever you buy it (if you have one). You have to work with Samsung. I don't need to say anymore.4. Cable length... for 1500 dollars Samsung should have made all cables 3 feet longer.5. Linux..... I tried Debian, Arch, Gentoo latest builds with Nvidia's latest drivers. I was unable to find a way to make this monitor actually set to 240 hz. DSC (display port compression) is required and im wondering if its just missing from the kernel. While I compiled my own kernel on Gentoo. I either missed the module, It doesn't exist for dsc, or its a configuration issue in Linux im unaware of. 120 hz does work. Keep in mind this all depends on your gpu and its display port version.6. Mac... Apple isn't know for amazing monitor support but just getting this monitor to work out that it should display an image with a mac is a nightmare. I had to turn off the monitor turn it on sometimes. sometimes i had to unplug the cable. Some times i had to reboot. this is from the screen sleeping.... not the mac sleeping.Lets go more in depth. Ive included pictures in my review. A stuck pixel is a stuck pixel we don't need to cover that. If your buying this monitor hopefully you know.Lets talk about horizontal lines. I attached an Image to my review. In my opinion it illustrates inconsistent color across rows of pixels. Please keep in mind that background is one solid color but you can see clearly defined rows of lighter pixels. This cause a horizontal line across the monitor. It is worse in the top left hand corner. It was present in both monitors but in the replacement amazon sent me it was ridiculously worse.Monitor manufactures should not have the much of a variation in their product. In fact Samsung says in their own owners manual for this product. Pixel variations should occur on a average of 1 pixel per million. This is clearly not the case and unless im missing something in my opinion it looks to be 1 in 2 pixels.Should you buy it..... if you really want 49 in curved at 1000r and 240 hz and don't care about stuck pixels. Horizontal lines due to bad manufacturer quality not being able to use it to its potential with linux. Not being able to get to to wake up when connected to mac and you don't mind the electrical or physical pop noise these seem to make every few minutes. then this monitor is for you. It will definitely be awesome for gaming if you don't care about all of these issues and have GPU to run it.Final thought. I have a 1500 RTX 3090. Dont expect to hit 240 hz in most recent games. Your fps will be less than 4k even though you don't have as many pixels as 4k... The reason why is to fill the screen at a 32:9 ratio. You are pretty much doubling the amount that is on screen. Graphics cards generally only render what is on screen. There are some exceptions to this. But you increase what is visible and you increase the load on the GPU.Movies--- 32:9 means that your blu-rays most likely will leave half of this screen with black bars on the sides. This is pretty much inline with the aspect ration differences.Games -- Not all support this ratio. so you get black bars on the side when the game defaults to 16:9 1440P. basically half the screen is just wastedProductivity -- Wonderful aside from all the before mentioned issues. I now cannot live without an ultra-wide because of this.warzone - 100 to 150 ish range of fpscyberpunk - struggles to maintain 60 and often dips to 40 or 30 with settings all the way.doom eternal - about the same as cod though i did get 240s in certain spots.
