Hello. Definitely not big enough for an iPad. Wallet and other small items. iPad fits in the next size up, backpack style bag.

Is it machine washable?

From the manufacturer: Do not put in the washing machine, dry clean, bleach, tumble dry, or iron. Use a soft brush, mild detergent and lukewarm water to clean. Hang dry in a well-ventilated area that is not in direct sunlight.
