Works so well I need to find other uses for it...
I needed a way to pump water out of the river on my property into buckets for delivery to my garden. When I came across this little pump I was skeptical, but Wayne is a well-regarded company and I decided to give it a try.I can't be happier. Setup was a breeze - prime the inlet and outlet with a bit of vegetable oil, connect the hoses (I used the provided filter on the inlet hose), connect to power (in this case, the battery on my Crafstman lawn tractor). After putting the suction hose in the water and turning on the pump, water began to flow out the discharge hose in just a few seconds. The pump easily filled four 5-gallon buckets in a few minutes. The on/off switch is a nice touch, and the power cable is long enough to provide some options for placing the pump.I haven't tried to use a long hose on either side; Wayne recommends a suction hose no longer than 15 feet, with no recommendation on the discharge hose length. Maximum lift is 30'; I wasn't really challenging the pump in that respect either. For larger jobs - draining pool covers, filling pools - you should note that the unit has a maximum recommended run time that should not be exceeded at the risk of burning out the motor. Check out the Wayne website, where you can find the full Users Manual and spec sheets.I'm very happy with this pump and expect to find new uses for it as time goes by.

Second one now dead
Update: the second one is now dead. It lasted 14 months. These things work great for a while, then they break just as they go out of warranty. Looks like I need to find a more reliable pump.I bought one of these last year. It worked great for about 10 months, then seized up. It seems to be beyond repair.I'm hoping this one lasts longer. It is built differently, and seems to be designed to more easily.

Works Just Fine
I bought this to pump out my boat after rain showers and it works perfectly for that. The yellow hose supplied in the kit should be used as the discharge hose because it will collapse easily under any kind of stress such as when leaves begin to block the intake filter. I bought a sturdy ribbed hose for the intake and that works fine. The suction disk provided works nicely as a filter and the suction from the pump holds it firmly in place wherever I put it. I have a 12 ft aluminum boat docked behind my house and this morning it had about 10 to 12 inches of water in it the entire length. It took about 10 minutes to pump it out using this pump. I wouldn't use this without using the filter they provide or at least SOME type of filter. The suction is quite strong and if you get something solid like a twig or a pebble sucked into it, it will likely jam the impeller and you will end up taking everything apart to clear it. They give you a spare impeller and gaskets, so if you do something stupid you can fix it and move on. It is a little loud, but it's exactly what I expected for an electric motor of this size. You don't need ear plugs, but I wouldn't want to listen to it all day. It pulls the water out down to about 1/8 of an inch. If it breaks easily I'll change my review, but as of now, it works exactly as I hoped it would.

Handy for transferring liquids where only 12V is available
This pump is useful for intermittent applications transferring liquids where only 12V power is available. It can be operated from a 12V jump pack or car battery. It doesn't come with hoses but I found humidifier drain hoses to be useful for transferring liquids from one barrel to another. I have had good experience using this pump to transfer hundreds of gallons of clean water and thicker liquids similar to shampoo or conditioner. Note that the rubber vanes are in contact with the pump housing and can wear out rapidly if the pump is run dry - try to prime the pump or at least run liquid through it before trying to draw up a distance.

Powerful portable pump exceeds expectations
Very happy with this powerful, portable 12 volt pump. I’m using it to draw clean water from a 100 gallon tank mounted on a heavy-duty cart to deliver water to several dozen oak trees I grew from acorns. Each tree has a 5 gallon bucket with weep holes on the bottom of one side and three inches of play sand for debris filtering and ballast, making the effective bucket capacity a bit less than 5 gallons. Consistent with the pump rating, it takes under a minute to fill. Worked right out of the box with no problems. Bought a cheap marinade injector that works great to easily and neatly squirt a tablespoon of vegetable oil in each port before starting the motor. The outlet port didn’t accept the whole tablespoon but the pump still worked flawlessly. Now that I know everything works, the only modification I plan to add is a wireless remote control relay so I can turn the pump on and off from the seat of my tractor, which will speed up the process tremendously. Nope, I have no connection with the seller. I simply admire well-made products and I want to return the favor for all the helpful reviews from others.
