I love this! My visitors are always surprised that a non-electric fixture is such a perfect doorknob. Just attach to inside your door (the ringer) and outside the door (turner to announce visitor) , and it works immediately. It’s loud enough to hear all over your house.

We ordered this to install in our old 1 and 7/8" thick solid wood front door. It was not only less expensive than repairing or replacing our electrically wired doorbell, but it was also more aesthetically pleasing in both form and sound. We are pleased.A few hints for installation:Follow the instructions carefully.You will need a hacksaw to trim the stem that goes through the door if your door is less than 1 and 7/8" thick.There was one complaint in a review about the bell not ringing properly. If you screw the bell all the way along the stem until it is touching and flush with the door, the wood of the door will absorb the vibrations of the bell, leaving you with a very dull rattle/rumble instead of a clear ring. Remember to leave a little space between the bell and the surface of the door when you install it.If you wish, a light spray of a little WD-40 will nicely lubricate the bell's gears before installation if you are so inclined.

The product met our expectations of quality, appearance and ease of installation. It looks nice on the door of our 1850 house.

Very nice product. Is as advertised but I learned the hard way brass screws will break with too much pressure! Of course I was installing in hundred year old oak. Make a pilot hole and you should be good.

Bought this to replace one we had gotten at an antique sale and had on our house for 30 years. Our son had asked for our bell as his souvenir from our home. When he saw this one installed he thought it was more ornate and very well done. If the original wasn't already across the country, it might have been swapped out, sentiment aside. Nice workmanship. A real showstopper on a century home.

Clear and crisp sound, so simple to install! It was the perfect addition to a Victorian era play in directing. The aesthetic was perfect and it is the perfect practical doorbell.
