I used these to retrofit an old army trunk because we are using it as a toy box. These have worked so great and my wife is no longer freaking out wearing the kids are going to lose a finger when the box lid slams closed. It opened slowly and requires minimal force to close.

They work great and exactly what was described.

These were purchased to replace a failed gas strut on a theater recliner arm cubby lid. They snapped perfectly into place on the original ball brackets. They work great and lift the arm lid after a slight lift and close completely with no issues. Would definitely purchase again if needed and recommend them to others. Just check that the dimensions match.

Got these to replace the worn out ones on crossover box in my pickup. They hold the lid up but don't lift it so maybe a slightly heavier one for a full size box.

Nope. The plastic knuckle literally broke in half. These were installed on our utility bed fold down doors. Zero stress other than normal opening and closing.

The metal clips are a pain to deal with

The lid on my trucks toolbox wouldn't remain open due to worn out arms. These fit perfectly and are doing the job so far.
