Simple but brilliant! A real back-saver!
When I first opened the package, I was very skeptical about how useful such a simple item would be. It's a real no-brainer to put the three straps together at the desired distance for whatever bulky item you're about to break your back with otherwise. Worked beautifully for bringing a dresser up one flight of stairs today. I couldn't believe how quickly the task went. The straps have absolutely no frills-- and they have potential to dig into your neck a little bit-- but, the price is right! And, by the time I noticed that the straps were digging in a tiny bit, the job was done. Highly recommended for regularly-shaped bulky items. (I'm not sure I'd want to use these straps for moving a grand piano-- but why would you do that anyway?!)

Does the job.
After reading the other reviews I decided to go ahead and try this product. The seller shipped very quickly and we used the product immediately. We found it very easy to figure out how to use the straps. My husband and I were able to move a very heavy washing machine up two flights of stairs with minimum difficulty. Without these straps there was no way we could have moved it. However, be aware that a heavy piece of furniture does not become lighter with these straps. The straps just made the object less cumbersome. It was a painful job (the straps dig into your shoulders and you can still strain your back) but we were able to accomplish it with the straps. There was no way we could have moved that washing machine without them.

Work smarter, not harder when moving huge items with these fabulous straps!
This is an excellent purchase if you want to move smarter, not harder. It's a simple design -- it slips over your shoulders, you feed the longer strap through those straps... which then goes under your furniture and attaches to the other person. These straps allow you to offset the weight of a heavy item by distributing it throughout your body/torso. They come with crude instructions, but the picture you see on the item is more useful than the instructions. These worked well for moving my heavy queen mattress and a few larger pieces of furniture. If your item is long, the strap itself may not be long enough, so be warned. Moving a sofa seems like it would be very easy, since the strap would be holding it up and you wouldn't have to scramble to find a place to hold the sofa. Some helpful tips...I criss-crossed the straps on my torso (so one strap over each shoulder to form an X). Once I lifted the item, I took a moment to readjust the straps for comfort. I am not a strong person, so if you are like me, use your arms WITH the straps, so you don't end up with too much weight on your core. These are well worth the money (I paid about 20 bucks), and saved my back.

Wish I had these when I was moving.
The product is definitely sturdy and easy to use. I wish we had these when we were moving but of course I found it after the fact. We still needed them because we are constantly moving furniture around the house. It takes the stress off your back and hands. I found at times the items we were moving had nowhere to grip so you are find a section and end up stressing your fingers. I thought one time; I might have broken a finger due to moving an item that way. This makes it so much easier to handle big items and you don't have to bend in an awkward position. I'm short and typically the person helping me is the opposite. Moving furniture with one person being 5' tall and another 6' tall is not easy. With this, we can move the items whether large or small or awkward size without having to bend our backs. We stand up straight moving the items around the house. I recommend everyone to get this because we will always find ourselves moving something that requires two people some time in our lifetime. This makes it so much easier to do.

Horrible for up/down stairs.
If you’re moving across regular flooring on the same level, any flat stretch of length, these work okay. They don’t distribute weight evenly in your shoulders, but definitely help with lifting. Going up or down stairs, forget it. They are impossible to steady, they never stay taught and that slack causes items to lose any balance you had when the movement was across a flat surface. We ended up giving up trying to get them to stay taught, and it saved so much time to just take the heavy items upstairs in the regular moving struggle. These straps were just a different kind of struggle instead.

I hesitated buying this, thought it was like many other devices that never do what they claim. But because I recently hurt my back and didn’t want to hurt it again, I took the chance. So glad that I did. It is not perfect but it is perfect in taking something awkward and heavy and making it unawkward and not nearly as difficult to move. More importantly two people can comfortably lift something that may have been previously impossible. Several people used these straps during our move and they all said they were going to get some. Two small issues I could point out is sometimes I had to adjust the straps as much as 3 times before the amount of slack was correct (not a big deal). The other issue involves the neck as others have pointed out. It is true that if the straps are not flat and too high towards the neck, undue pressure, weight and pain occurs. There is a slight learning curve and once you learn to make sure the straps lay flat against your skin and as far away from the neck as possible, the pressue, pain and weight goes away. Amazingly a 1inch difference in where the strap lays in relation to the neck can make a huge difference in comfort.
