Great product
Installed trex decking using these screws worked great. Over 1500 screws 1 bit ( Bosch) never had an issue. By far a better screw than what is available at the big stores. A little more expensive but worth it. Color a very good match too. Make sure you have spare batteries for your tools ( i used a dewalt impact driver)as they do require a good impact driver.

Comparable to name brand composite deck screws but at a much better price.
I purchased these for use with a small pebble gray Trex composite deck I was building. I was somewhat concerned about using this brand because it was not among the recommendations in the Trex installation guide. However, they worked perfectly with the special threads allowing a flush or even sunk position without the deck board mushrooming up around the screw. I did strip out one head, but it was my fault (I released pressure allowing the provided Torx bit to float up). I would definitely buy these again. Actually, I have to because I was two screws short!

Great product for composite decking
I used to install Trex composite decking into PT 2x8 joists. They worked great! I was concerned about some of the negative reviews, but I did not encounter any of the problems that others did. I used my impact driver with a T-20 bit, and did not need to pre-drill. I used a medium-fast drive speed; be prepared to back off a bit as the head starts to countersink. For me this was easy because as soon as the screw got to the reverse-thread part, the impact driver would kick in and driving speed was reduced to a crawl. I drove until the head was just below the surface of the decking; no mushrooming as promised. Note that removing these is tricky (because of the reverse-thread part), but not impossible...just take it slow. The Cocoa Brown color matches Trex Saddle perfectly (very hard to see the heads from standing height).

There's probably better
I can't review this as if I've used a bunch of other screws like this in the way I used these, so take that with a grain of salt. What I can say is that we used these on Fiberon composite decking, screwing in to an older pressure treated structure. We tried to do it without pre-drilling, as advertised, that it was a disaster. There was too much friction created by the Fiberon and the PT joists didn't have enough integrity so we just started stripping out holes in the joist and the screw never went in all the way. At this point you have to decide if you suck it up and stick with that hole since it will otherwise be a blemish in your decking for no reason, or try again in a different spot. If you didn't really need the decking to be tacked down a solid hammer blow would sink the head and help you forget about the whole ordeal. After pre-drilling they worked fine, but other issues arose. We were using brand-new milwaukee bits and stripped quite a few screw heads - maybe one in 15. I'm no rookie when it comes to house projects and can honestly say stripping these screws is way easier than other torx that I've used...at first I was mad at my wife and friends when they did it until I gave it a whirl and saw for myself. We also found that if we weren't using a newer impact to drive the screw, momentum would be lost and we'd most likely strip the screw head, though we also stripped a good number of holes out as well - this mainly happened with a quite new bosch 12v impact, but we were also using a 10yr old dewalt impact that could barely do it, and a new brushless dewalt impact that had no issues. Finally, the self countersink feature of the screw worked for the most part, but given some of the issues noted above it didn't work always and seemed to get gummed up from the composite. I don't doubt that if we were screwing in to wood this would not be an issue.
