worked great for my needs
I used this to repair some threaded holes on a honda quad. The tap worked great. A little oil and take your time. It cleaned up the bad threads and I had no more issues threading in a bolt. I also used this to make some threaded holes in a 1/4 thick steel plate. The supplied drill bit worked fine. Again use a little oil and take your time. That hole then threaded good with the supplied tap. Worked great for me. The drill bit and the tap were sharp. Good value considering you get a drill bit and the tap.

It worked for me
Performed the repair I needed at a reasonable price. Minimal markings on the bit and the tap. Just the size and HSS. No "Made In" indication. The tap cut as expected. Did not use the drill bit so cannot give an opinion on it. It is sharp though. Not sure how well this set will work with regular use. Worked for my one-time use.

Now I can screw with the others.
With this, I was able to make a hole that has a 5/8-11 thread. If you are trying to do something different I doubt this will work.

China's drill bits are tougher than this "industrial" tap
How these taps have above 3 stars is beyond me. I work as a quality manager in a machine shop. Was in a pinch for some homemade parts that needed tapping so ordered this real quick to try out. The tap flexes so much when tapping the first hole that I was almost positive it was going to break just from how much it was twisting at the top near my tapping handle compared to the bottom as the cutting threads started to engage the hole. I stopped tapping at that point and decided to borrow a proper tap from work. I then continue to use this tap to start the threads and then used my tap from work to finish the threads. Needless to say on the third hole out of eight this tap broke only being two or three threads in...not too hard to get out but if I would have tried to cut more on the first hole it would have surely been a scrap part... Or maybe not since a standard drill bit is probably going to be harder than this tap... Even if the drill bit was from China it would probably still be tougher than this tap.

The perfect pair.
This was my first time creating threads in ANYTHING. A buddy of mine had a tap and die set and of course the size I needed was damaged AND I didn’t have an exact drill bit for the hole size. So I ordered this here and took my time drilling straight and creating the new threads and it worked out PERFECTLY.Thank you for having one of the few sets that comes with both to create the hole AND to tap it.
