Products coming with Windows 10 - S mode enabled can confuse customer
On Jan. 16th I wrote a review about a new laptop I bought my sister. And I gave it a one star because Windowscould not be activated and an error message was indicating that Windows was unable to update and that perhapsthe product key needed to loaded into the system. Windows comes bundled with any mention of the product keythat is identified with this laptop.Apparently, Windows 10 now comes with S mode enabled for security against the download of any non Microsoft applications which may well be great but it causes an issue when trying to activate Windows and update the latest versions updates onto the laptop. There is a nice warning that it's best to keep the S-mode enabled. So after some significant amount of wait time with Microsoft support person in West Africa "Linda" we figured out you must disable the S-mode in the activation phase in order to allow updates of the laptop and complete the activation setup. Therewere 6 new versions. After loading all the update versions of Window ( from verion 1903 to version 1909 ) and 2 hours later we were done. "Congratulation, you have successfully activated Windows on your computer. My suggestion with the sale of products bundled with Windows 10 S-mode is to put something in the box about thewindows activation process and for those who like me ordered this and found there is absolutely no technical setupinstructions to discuss the disabling of the "S- mode" setting. Thank you Microsoft....Dell you need a better startupprocess with your computers. Other then this setback the product is great and I have revised my rating to 5 stars on the product.

Great Laptop - Here's How To Activate Windows And Get Out of Windows 10 S
Bought this laptop for my wife. So far I am very impressed. Much like others have posted, you just need to survive the laptop setup, specifically activating Windows and scrapping S mode (assuming you want to). First, don't worry about looking for the Windows product key. You won't find it. With Dell, the Windows key is embedded in the system. It will activate automatically... eventually. Before it will do so, you need to update Windows repeatedly. Keep going to Start > Settings > Update and Security. Continue choosing the "Check For Updates" option, installing every one. Remember, some updates are dependent upon other updates being in place. Update then restart. Wash, rinse, and repeat until Windows says you are up to date. NOW choose Start > Settings > Update and Security > Activation. You will most likely see an error that Windows has been unable to activate. If so, choose "Troubleshoot". This will access the embedded product key, activate Windows, and you are live. Now, if you are fine with Windows 10 S, you are done. If you would prefer Windows 10 Home over 10 S, the activation screen should now have an option to "Switch to 10 Home from S mode". If you select this it will open your Microsoft Store app's "Switch Out Of S Mode" page but with a slight update. (Note, if you searched the Microsoft Store for "Switch out of S Mode" before Windows activated, you would see that an update to Microsoft Store was required in order to switch out of S mode. You could update the store app 50 times with no change. The specific update can only happen after Windows is activated.) The "Switch Out" page now offers a "Get" button, meaning "Get me the option to get out of S". Select "Get", let the application know you agree with this "no going back" change, and you will be swapped to Windows 10 Home permanently. Now you have a great laptop with an activated version of Windows 10 Home. Enjoy!

OK but keyboard is not backlit and touch pad is flimsy
Received this yesterday and so far it's just ok. I was misled about the backlit keyboard. Someone in the questions replied that it was backlit, it is not. Also I can see what people are saying about the flimsy TouchPad. The wifi is really good and it boots up very quickly. Getting it out of s mode was a breeze after a quick how to. If I were to have this connected to my own keyboard and mouse it would be a ton better, but if I wanted that I would have gotten a desktop. I'll update if I'm swayed better or worse after using it for a while but for this price I'd have expected a backlit keyboard and better touch pad.

Fast, great value for the price.
I was looking for a laptop I could use for both school and work. This laptop has been great. Love the touch screen. The only thing I wasn't real excited about was windows coming in safe mode, but it was easy to switch off. Good battery life, good screen quality, and great overall value.
