Great piece, poor packaging
I purchased this as a Christmas present, so the recipient hasn't seen it yet. I am sure he will love it. The sculpture is very details and I love how Jim Shore adds Americana-type touches to his artwork.I was disappointed that the package arrived in its original box, not packed in another box for safekeeping. I don't know if this is because it had to go through customs, though. While the box is dented, torn and covered with mailing and customs stickers, the product itself was not damaged.

Great craftsmaship
Got this as a gift for my dad's 79 birthday. He has always loved Scooge McDuck (so he claims) since he was a kid. It now has a place of honor in his home office.

Not bad but not great.
Let's get this straight, I don't care who Jim Shore is nor care for his weird pattern motifs. This falls more into higher priced "gift" item than hardcore "collectible." I so hate it when Disney hands their IP over to some non-Disney artist to put their own artistic touch/style/spin on their characters. Nobody cares about that. We all know what we want, a good, faithful, on-model representation of Scrooge McDuck. We love Scrooge, we love Carl Barks. That's all we want. But it's not a "sucker gift" I give this sculpt a B+As far as likeness to the Disney Duck, he did well. The sculpture itself isn't that heavy but not light either. What he didn't do well is I don't care for that pattern on Scrooge's robe, the eyeglass frames are too big and are just wires. They could've made transparent acrylic but they didn't. Jim mistakenly gave Scrooge glove patterns on his hands; this isn't Mickey here. Scrooge doesn't wear gloves. Scrooge's gaiters he wears on his feet should be tinted something like light purple instead of white. But the worst decision of all is giving Scrooge some kind of a neckbeard or featherbeard. It's like Jim didn't know when to stop. Pay more attention next time, man! Fortunately, it's not that easy to spot unless you look closer. The blue base pattern is reminiscent of something you'd find at a pool and doesn't add nor detract to me.What I do like is the sculpt of the coins. There's another sculpt version of this pose the "WDCC Pool of Riches" sculpt. That version, I like Scrooge's likeness a little more but whoever sculpted that gave Scrooge black lined eyes that just looks like mascara. Even though the WDCC version drops the robe pattern, it also looks more plasticy. Worst of all on the WDCC is the pile of money looks like some sort of blob of crap. I would rather prefer Jim Shore's version, despite it's flaws.

UNCLE SCROOGE McDUCK FIGURINE
I am a strong fan of Uncle Scrooge courtesy of Carl Barks and Don Rosa. I love the figurine very much. It is a good buy for fans of Uncle Scrooge.
