Low Tech But Works Great and is All You Need
No complaints with this one. I checked both my motorcycle and car battery successfully. Diagnosed a bad motorcycle battery and a good car battery. Problem with the car was the alternator, not the battery.

As expected
Not as sturdy as the ,40 year old version that was lost in a fire.Don't make stuff like they used to.

Decent load tester with the old fashioned large resistor
I just don't know how to trust the new compact load testers with digital readouts. According to physics, to load test, you must place a small valued, high power resistor across the two terminals that results in a large amount of current between them, then monitor voltage drop or current and see if the battery can provide a sustained amount of either. This box does exactly that, and the heat you will feel will confirm to you that without doubt, a large amount of power traversed its two terminals. The readings I tried on several batteries (one dead) seemed to confirm the status of each.
