Cheap, Small and Serviceable Rework Station
Cons: Connection to the base unit for the soldering tool and air gun are not the best and need a little force to insert and screw down well.Pros: You can mount the soldering iron holder accessory to the top, reducing the overall footprint to make for an easier time fitting in tight spaces. 97C solder melts around 245C, and both iron and air gun set to that temp did cause the solder to melt, so I would say the unit is accurate. It uses a typical Weller-style tip, so there is a little length with the tube/sleeve mount compared to say a JBC soldering unit, but not uncomfortable to use. Heat up is fairly rapid. The unit does come with some extra tips for heat gun and soldering iron. nOverall, it's a a decent rework station. I've used it on FR, MCPCB, and specialty no-dielectric solid metal PCBs without causing burn or delamination. Great for LED and small component work, a little underpowered for thick (2mm+) metal based PCBs. I've used this for a few years now and it has remained solid and reliable. My only wish would be a Weller style tip that would provide a flat disc to let me heat up a board from the underside. perfect for point work on stubborn boards that an air gun won't faze.

Decent for SMD rework. Terrible Iron
Right off the bat, I would not recommend this for soldering with the iron. I purely use this for the hot air station which is surprisingly effective despite being a more budget style of rework station. This has been used for things ranging from switch repairs replacing qfn ic chips, replacing charging ports to even removing and reflowing the cpu on a Nintendo switch. This will certainly pack enough punch. Enough punch to actually popcorn the board and ruin it. That was I’m sure 90% rookie error. Anyways, the iron included don’t bother unless you wanted to get frustrated with the hobby. It’s fine for basic things like through hole soldering but when it comes to more demanding things like drag soldering or soldering thicker ground planes (like the switch usb port) it’s hopeless. If you plan on using this with copper braid to de solder, look elsewhere. The pinecil is a great option under $30. I actually got a clone unknowingly off Ali express and it works very well. Anything that has the tip as the actual heating element as opposed to a tip sliding over the heating element will be a lot more efficient. Paired with a bigger knife tip, soldering becomes sooo much more enjoyable than this. But again, this is what I use for hot air rework and it’s been great for every application I’ve tried with

Great for Electric Guitar Wiring
I like having a temperature readout. Better temp control seems to keep my tips cleaner and longer lasting. The stand for the iron can be located away from the main unit, which lets me position the iron near the work without the bulky power station right there. The cord for the iron that is limber and well behaved. compared to normal wire. Getting 10 tips with the unit is nice. Haven't used the heat gun much yet but it would have been useful when I replaced the IC on a solid state guitar amp. It doesn't do a quick job on heat shrink tubing, at least not with the nozzle I used. I'm sure there are better soldering stations out there for those who need them, but for low volume guitar work I can't imagine needing anything better. Well worth $80!
