The wood and finish is good (the piece I received was painted dark brown in color). The hinges and clasp could be better.The biggest positive is that the pits are curved (unlike similar products with perfectly cylindrical pits). Which means that this can actually be used to play pallankuzhi where scooping up the chozhi/shells is the primary activity.

Quality of wood work is best, but fittings are of cheaper quality and could have been much better. The lock broke first time I opened and I had to fix it myself with help of some old screws. They have provided the shells needed to play, some were very small, and there were enough of them, no complaints there. I liked the depth of hole and quality of them. It is pretty smooth.I would have given 5 start, removed one star for price, as they charged extra for delivery. Overall, I feel it's worth 600-650 bucks.

Well made and finished well. The wood is smooth and without splinters. The shells are really small and easy to play with. I don't suggest this for kids below 5 since the shells can be a chilo g hazard. I was more worried about this because another board I bought was a hazard with peeling Formica and splinters.

Broken piece. Even you can see the patches for fixing before delivery itself. They delivered even though they know it's broken. Can see some white fevicol tried to fix before delivery.

No smooth finishing in the wooden pits. They hammerred a nail outside the middle pit. We are able to feel it while playing. It is not safe. It was not done keeping the safety of users. Also, some of the shells provided are very small.The quality of the product doesnt match the price. Unfortunately i cannot return it as my daughter has already applied colour.

Looks like they sent me an unfinished product. This is a wooden product and the holes to hold the seashells are not sanded at all. The seashells were just wrapped in paper, no box or pouch to hold them! There are better products out there, skip this merchant.

It's as shown in pic. Well packed and received without any defects. Surface could have been polished. It's rough and would easily get termites or vulnerable to weather affects. We have used varnish over the surface. It's worth buy. An old game which our kids are playing and enjoying every it.
