Excellent little kit
I work in electronics so therefore I can 'fix anything'! The other day my mother turned up with an 'oriental' style lamp which belonged to her friend who was an ex-pat, bought this thing in 1970s in Hong Kong!It had failed so I was tasked to mend it! It had a dodgy American style bulb holder and wasn't earthed despite being brass, etc.So I dismantled it 'eventually' then went to the local DIY shed but they didn't have anything suitable so I looked on Amazon and decided to try this kit.The bulb holder is a nice brass, and the parts allowed me to screw it into the original 'candlestick' shaped metalwork on the lamp, and is properly insulated and earthed etc. The wire really looks the part and I liked the transparent UK plug too.I have bought 2 of these kits, having mended one lamp, I was asked to restore it's twin to the same standard.So very pleased....

Superb customer service
I needed a pair of kits for a project. Unfortunately one kit had a faulty switch. I started the returns process with Amazon when the seller contacted me and offered to send a new part to replace it. I received it next day and was able to avoid the lengthy returns process. Superb customer service - a rarity these days.The product itself is excellent quality. I know one of mine had a fault, but this is not going to stop me buying more. Other kits I’ve purchased got nowhere near the quality of these and were far less reliable. In addition, they have a great safety feature to prevent accidents in a home with children.

Good to have all the bits you need in one box.
Arrived on time, and I managed to rewire a lamp with it. I'd give the actual product 5 stars, and the instructions 3.They should tell you how long the flex is - it's not very long. Was OK for me as socket just beside chest that lamp stands on, but if you need a longish flex this won't do.It didn't have instructions as such, just a list of ingredients and what they were for. I'm sure it would all be clear to an electrician, but as an ordinary person I found it too hard to work out, but I watched a video on youtube then I could do it.And if I can do it, anyone can.

Easy to fit
Replaced the old wiring and fittings on a standard lamp. Straightforward and easy to fit, good quality product

Cheap switch doesn't work.
It's got a cheap switch that doesn't switch every time and has to be switched back and forth several times and yes it has been wired up properly.Having to buy another one total waste of money.
