I learned from experience. Don't buy a cheep set. The gauges fall apart, knobs fall off, hoses separate at at the fittings,and the hoses are too short for a large car or truck. Then I bought one like this with the five foot hoses. It only died because I dropped it and broke the gauge covers. This caused deterioration of the mechanisms after many years. The longer hoses are great. the dials are even adjustable, the quick connects are much better than the cheap type. I am very satisfied. IF you do a lot of cars, do your self a favor and use 30# tanks.

The aluminum machined unit and couplers look to be high quality. The two plastic knobs (high and low valves) are sufficient and good quality, they turn smoothly and seat well. The hoses seem to be adequate and as a unit this manifold gauge set seems well suited for any weekend warrior. The couplers connect solidly to the Schrader valves, open and close the valves well. Overall I am very satisfied with this tool. I am not a professional ac tech. but have used a few gauge sets over the past 50 years; I can with confidence recommend this set to anyone doing ac work on your own vehicles. It is not my intention to review this set for professionals, I’m sure you have your favorites. I wrote this for fellow weekend warriors like myself so, you will have an idea of this units attributes.

I’ve had these for 6 months, used them twice. They arrived with a messed up oring, but I replaced it no big deal. Worked great the first time. The second time (yesterday), the plastic knob on the manifold stripped, rendering the valve useless. I called AC Pro hoping to maybe exchange it, they refused. I offered to buy a new knob, not wanting to buy a brand new set. They again said, “sorry about your luck”. The gauges worked great that one time, but I refuse to support a company that doesn’t stand by their products.

This manifold leak the entire time does it matter if I use the O-ring supplied by the manufacturer or did aftermarket it would just not line up I would seat in the old Rings between the hose fitting and the manifold in would either be cut by threading it in or it would be off-centered or crushed causing a leak I've tried different scenarios by hand tightening without using a wrench I tried different manufacturer o rings could not do the work on my vehicle you get what you pay for

Kit did not have the connector to the threaded 134a cans, or any other can for that matter. I had to get a plastic adapter from walmart. Also it takes a very long time 30-60 minutes, to transfer the freon to the vehicles. Something is not right with the setup. Label for open and close is backwards on one knob. I will have to try to rig it up some more to get it to work.

I've rented my share of gauges over the years and for that reason I decided to buy my own set. These are just as good as the set you may get at a parts store loaner. Hoses and couplings are solid and connect without any leaks.

they broke on the first use. A hose fitting split and then the manifold would not let refrigerant through. Customer service was great though they sent me new ones right away.the second set quit working on the 3rd job this product is not worth a dollar.
