5 star hi! Christmas gift for my HS grandson. The kid is hard to give any kind of reaction; it’s just not his way. BUT THIS…. B I G 😁😁 and real happy emotion escaped!!! Started playing the moment he opened. Everything and everyone else faded in the background. He only had eyes and strumming fingers for his Johnny Cash guitar!

Ive been playing guitar for over 5 decades. Always wanted a Martin, plus I am a Johnny Cash fan. This guitar is amazing to say the least. Ive only had it for 3 days, and played it more than 15 hours. I did change the strings to a 10 gauge,as i do not use 12 or 13. I decided to plug it in my 3 amps. In my old Fender amp, it was unreal, what a sound, i also used it in my to Peavy Stereo chorus amps, what a sound. Believe me, you can not and will not find a guitar liket his one for the price.. When you unpackage the guitar, you will notice that the small black tailpiece(HOLDS THE STRAP ON) IS NOT on the guitar. DO NOT PANIC. It is inside the gig bag in a small envelope. Martin for some reason does not put them on. Just push in the peg, you are set to go.ENJOY !!

This is a beautiful guitar and sounds fantastic. The fit and finish, great. I love the wood choice for the neck. We saved up for a long time for this purchase.But... Buyer beware the body seems to be made of Formica. They absolutely cheaped out with materials here.Three days after receiving it we had a minor mishap turn into a disaster. My teenage son was playing sitting in a chair, when he stood up the guitar fell. His strap had slipped off. The guitar fell onto the wood floor and the body shattered at the edge by the jack . The top separated from the bottom and the black finished chipped off, the pieces scattered around. Guitar ruined.I reached out to Martin Guitars with a detailed account of the damage, and how it happened. I provided pictures. No response from Martin. Not even a suggestion on who could repair it, or if this is a known problem. Very disappointed in the quality. The Cash is pretty, sounds great, but is not a quality guitar. This was purchased to be played, not sit in a case. So, no customer service from Martin guitars.This review should not reflect on the seller, I received it quickly and it was packed well.

only thing i disliked was, it didn't have a truss rod ,i had to order me one becuz the strings buzzed with capo on,so i loosen the neck up a bit and it plays perfectly ,i leave it at my church and can't wait to play it for the lord

I was on the fence about buying HPL, but after watching some video reviews and reading up on HPL, I decided to pull the trigger. I think for the price and what you are getting, it's a very nice dreadnaught. It sounds really good. It has a nice low ended tone to it. It doesn't sound tinny at all. Almost like having a mahogany wood sounding guitar. I recommend it. It arrived quickly from The Music Zoo through Amazon. Thank you!

The guitar looks and sounds great especially for the price, but the action is awful. I thought Martin would have done a better job, the guitar is almost unplayable. After spending 100$ to get it ground down and setup properly, it’s a great guitar.
