Expensive but worth it.
This is kind of a specialty battery analyzer but I have a dozen clocks around the house that use button cell batteries plus a few watches….when I have to replace one I don't want to put in an unneeded battery OR put in a bad 'new' battery. This thing pays for itself in time saved and aggro from wifey when her clock doesn't work!!

Great for Novice and Pro - Easy To Use - Works Well
This is a great little gadget at a reasonable price - I purchased it on special below $20.00 with Amazon Prime shipping. Here is the low down on the unit:1) The unit comes packed in a box with a 9 volt battery already installed.2) You receive a set of plug in wired testers (red and black with probe type tips) for testing in hard to reach places.3) You can simply place the watch on the unit to see if the battery is working without even opening the case.4) The unit has a four position switch - one switch allows you to test the coil.5) The unit has a built in battery tester - (you can place a loose round battery on a metal contact and press down on a metal tab to check battery life. This is great if you want to make sure the battery you are placing in the unit is good.I would recommend this unit due to the price, simplicity of use and the ability to test loose watch batteries as well as those already installed. There are a number of videos on UTube concerning watch repair and battery replacement. Time will tell regarding this Tester's quality.
It was recently purchased therefore wouldn't be able to give an opinion regarding its quality.Doesn't really bring an instructions manual, only general instructions underneath the casing, so I'll probably use YouTube to figure somethings out.The casing was partially closed and after attempting to close it completely I realized why it was left like that....the casing had an imperfection that wouldn't allow the screws that hold it together to latch on. I ended up filing down the plastic box in several places until it finally closed and the screws landed appropriately. The info regarding whether the tester requires or not a battery is not clear because somewhere it reads that it doesn't and in another part it says that it does. I asked online and was informed by a consumer that it uses a 9 volt battery, so I bought one.

You get what you pay for
Kind of cheap. Wish it had an AC adapter instead of only relying on battery. Poor instructions included.
