Died after six months
I'm looking for help with this - I purchased this six months ago and the battery stopped accepting a charge and now it won't boot up. No matter what I attempt to reset it, restart it, run diagnostics or put it back to original settings it crashes and asks if I want to continue. No matter what option I pick it kicks me back out to start over. I currently have seven other computers in the house and no other Dell, HP or surface is giving me this problem and they are all running windows 10. Any assistance would be appreciated

BEFORE YOU BUY A DELL YOU NEED TO READ THIS!!!
DELL has no US based consumer product support at all anymore! I have been a loyal Dell customer for 22 years. My newest Dell laptop recently failed. I sent it in to Dell for repair and it was returned damaged. I contacted Fed Ex to report the damage and Fed Ex told me I had to contact Dell. When I contacted Dell they had me submit pictures of the damage while I was on the phone with them . They told me the pictures were sufficient evidence of the damage and they told me that someone would contact me within 24 to 48 hours to further assist me. My claim was escalated to the Advanced Resolution Team, where an agent named Allen Dominic Christopher took over the case. This agent was not only rude and had an extremely arrogant attitude but he proceeded to yell at me and talk over me as though what I had to say was unimportant. I explained to him that my laptop had begun to leak some sort of fluid that was producing a foul chemical smell which had caused several family members to feel nauseous and dizzy. I told him that I put the laptop in the garage. The chemical smell persisted for days (my garage is built into my house). I pleaded with him to send Fed Ex to pick up the laptop and get it away from my home, he laughed at me and told me that I would have to handle the laptop and take more photos for him. He wanted me to touch the laptop even though toxic chemicals were all over it . I tried to escalate the matter to his supervisor and he told me, “he was the highest person that I coud speak to.” I contacted the Poison Control Center they advised me to dispose of the laptop as soon as possible. Doing some subsequent Google searches I found that the battery contains “Sodium chloride, chloric acid, nitric acid, potassium nitrate, hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, sodium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide and sodium acetate”. The agent lied to me and told me that it couldn't contain any toxic chemicals and when I asked him for a Material Data Safety Sheet he could not produce one. I also found out that the screen contains mercury again another extremely toxic substance. It is now 5 months and I still do not have a working laptop and worse yet I have a toxic nightmare sitting in a garbage bag outside of my house. I have made a total of 18 phone calls averaging approximately 2 hours each and still no resolution! At this point I am out $1299.00 + tax for the laptop and $55.00 for the extended warranty. I am so disappointed with Dell from this experience it is beyond what words can describe. I was ripped off by Dell and they don't seem to care. If they have to make their money by ripping off consumers of their products, they should not be in business! The consumer is what made Dell what they are today and without the consumer they wouldn't be where they are now. I am not a rich guy and $1461.17 ( price + tax + extended warranty) is a lot of money for me. How much business does Dell have to lose before they realize that the people they have subcontracted to are not acting in their best interest.Michael S. Dell this is a wake up call to you! You will continue to lose market share as long as you employ this subcontractor.
